2021: trip number six to the Fort!!

It’s a little early for an official October trip report, but being buried in snow for several more months makes me eager to look ahead! This fall we’re coming down from Minnesota at the end of October- it will be our first time being at the Fort over Halloween! :cheer2:
Then we’re hoping to be there long enough to go to the Christmas party at magic kingdom- this has always been a dream of mine to be there and see things change for the holidays :goodvibes

Just curious who might be there over Halloween this year!

Wish we could, but kids' school keeps us from making that trip.

I hear it's a blast though.

We did a very similar thing last year. We were not there long enough to get to a Christmas party, but we were at the Fort for Halloween and then stayed for the changeover (in fact, we attended MNSSHP on November 1 - left at midnight - returned a day later to see it all changed over!). It's off our possibilities list for a while, as the kids are too old to be missing school anymore, but you will have an absolute blast!

We will be there October 25 to November 1st! We go every year to the fort during Halloween and have been going for a long time. Love going to MNSSHP and the golf cart parade and all of the activities at the Fort. The decorations are amazing! That's the best part for us, just going around all of the loops and seeing all of the sites decorated for Halloween.

Hey serenitygr,

Haven't seen you much on the forums since the October thread but I'll admit, I haven't been here much either :rolleyes2 We have decided to do the Fort the end of May this year ... right before Hurricane season o_O Anyway, glad to hear from you again ... October is a GREAT time for Disney!

BTW, I have been meaning to apologize to you ... the evening ya'll visited, I am ashamed I didn't ask you and your husband to come in and have an adult beverage ... maybe our paths will cross again, and if they do, I am buying :-)

Shelly,

Halloween at the Fort is a thoroughly new experience even for experienced Fort-goers like yourself. I was there last year and it was crowded but fun. So set expectations accordingly.

I'll be here with my 'corn following along. popcorn::

Serenitygr,
I plan on being at the Fort from Oct 14 thru Nov 4th. I've been at the Fort in October and loved it but this will be my first time at the Fort on Halloween day. Gonna have to load up with trick-or-treat candy to give out!
see ya there!

We will be there. Already planning our cart "costume" for the parade.

The parade carts are amazing! I especially loved the "UP" house and the Millenium falcon. We fly in so can't bring much but we decorate as best we can. We love throwing candy and beads to the kids along the parade route.

We're doing the fort for haloween for the first time too! Weve tried for a few years and finallly snagged a ressie. We're local, and the last few years we've done trails end on golf cart parade night, then walked loops. We dont have a golf cart and wont have the spectacular decorations a lot of people have but we're looking forward to at least giving out treats. (Also looking forward to our 5 night outing starting tomorrow! 1/28...)

We will be back at the Fort for Halloween this year. We were there for our first Halloween in 2016 and had a great time. Last year we were there 10/9 thru 10/15. Wasn't Halloween but it was the Fort. This year we will be there 10/27 thru 11/11. We will probably only do 7 park days. The more we stay at the Fort, the more we enjoy those non park days. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

No apologies necessary! It was fun just having the chance to meet and visit!

So much fun hearing from everyone! I haven’t posted much since we got home in October- seems like life gets so crazy once winter hits here that it’s hard to think about what we left behind :beach:

But now we’re about 8 months away and in spite of 20 below temperatures and snow everywhere- I’m getting excited! This will be a different kind of trip for us- we’ll be staying 2 weeks again but not getting any park tickets. Instead we’ll be doing both the Halloween party and the Christmas party. We’re also going to go to discovery cove to spend a day, and since we get admission to sea world included with that, we’ll spend one day there and one day at Aquatica. That’s it! Lots of relaxing Fort days planned for this trip :dancer:

Can’t wait to start that trip report and hopefully meet a few more DIS’ers!

Sounds like a GREAT plan :dogdance: We would like to do the same trip but ... We have a cruise scheduled for December ... Panama Canal !

Where is your cruise leaving out of? We have a cruise scheduled for December also, leaving Port Canaveral, will be in Jamaica for Christmas then off to Mexico.

We have the same plan! October 31 through November 10. It will be our first time at the Fort and we’ll be tent camping. I have 4 boys who are counting down the days!
