--June 2018 Check-in Thread--

We are out of SNA so I figure we can head over there pretty last minute.

So I’m thinking-we will have Early Entry to DL on Saturday since we will be at the VGC. We can enter DL park early and use max pass to book fast pass at the coaster?

Oh good plan if that’ll work! We are staying DLH so will have the same.

Can you book MP before DCA is even open? If you can, I need to adjust my plans.

My current plan is to MP Incredicoaster as soon as we enter DCA first thing in the morning. Make a beeline for Mickey's Wheel of Death. Take little guys on carousel while we swap out with older boys to go on Incredicoaster. Then, we are headed back to Disneyland to escape the madhouse that will likely be in DCA. ;)

June 22nd to 25th! First time in Disneyland as a family. Traveling from Virginia to visit family in the West Coast! Husband grew up in LA and visit Disneyland many times as a kid. Taking my 7 year old boy for the first time at any Disney Park. Staying at VGC (rented points). Not sure how much the opening of the Pixar Pier will impact my trip. Very Excited! Any tips to make this trip extra magical for my kid?

You can after your park tickets have been scanned. So if they scan you before the park opens - and they often do that - then you can make MPs at either DCA or DL.

Thank you! So... If we book breakfast at the Plaza at 7:10 on Saturday, and DCA opens at, say 8, can we book DCA FP with MP at 7:10 (after being scanned in to the park)?

Once your tickets are scanned my experience is that, yes, you can get FPs at either park. Anyone else?

How’re everyone’s plans coming along? We are at 100 days out now!

Airfare is all booked-was able to get 2 Alaska Airlines companion tickets and one with miles, so only paid full price for two out of five. My oldest daughter’s boyfriend and his 2 year old are coming with-he’s never been on a plane so this is a big deal! And my 12 year old daughter is bringing a friend as well. We will have 8-one under 3-in our 2 bedroom. I’m so happy we will have the ability to eat meals in our room and make it quickly back for naps (and excited to stay at the Grand Californian for our first time!).

Still need to book a place for our first two nights, before we get to DL. Leaning towards a vrbo near the beach. We will only have five those two nights so simpler and cheaper-any recs?

We are 97 days out from our first trip!! We have flights booked, DLH package booked, rental car booked for LA days, a night in Santa Monica on arrival day and the next night in downtown LA after dodgers game. Still need to buy dodgers tickets and transfer from DLH to airport on last day. We extended our trip a day due to Pixar pier opening.

We will be there June 27-July 1 @ Grand Californian. We are so excited to be going back after 10 years! We do Disney World every year or two and used to go to DL when we had family in California and we moved to/from Hawaii twice, so we always made a point to DL during those times. DS is graduating in May and we are going to DL for 4 days on our way to vacation with family in Hawaii. Can't wait!

The Balboa Pier/Newport Beach area is fantastic, but I wouldn’t say cheap. You’ll have to search VRBO for a place with a 2 night minimum as a lot of them unfortunately go to one week minimum stay for peak season. Good luck!

We (me and my 2 sons) are taking our first ever DL trip this summer! Spending a few days in San Diego and then at the Fairfield Inn Anaheim 6/12-6/15. Bummed we'll probably miss all the new attractions/updates, but maybe we'll get lucky and get a few sneak peeks! It will be an amazing trip!

Well, I just caved and booked Disneyland Hotel. I'm keeping my reservation for CCI just in case, but with any luck, discount will come out and won't be an issue. And if one doesn't, I'm sure we'll stay at DLH just because I'm a sucker for spoiling the family.

What kind of discount do you expect there'll be? I'm not as familar with DL on site hotel deals as I am WDW.

Will be heading down from the PNW with a party of 13, June 22-26. 5 kiddos, me & wife, sis & BIL & 2 sets of grandparents. Went 2 years ago with just immediate family; twins were 4, other two kids were 3 months old and niece was just over a year; so it will their first time remembering anything. Will also have a 3-month old baby (niece) with us. GParents and BIL didn't get to go last time, so it will be nice to outnumber the kids considering we're going on what's looking to be a crazy busy weekend!

Fun! Where will you stay? We are also heading with a big group from the PNW-though you’ve definitely got us beat :)

I'm in countdown mode.... arrive in 90 days! Ridiculously excited! Today is my birthday and I plan to drown myself in as many Disney related things that I can....music, movies...etc. Lol! My obsession will be in full gear today. My husband and 5 year old already sang happy birthday to me the toon of It's a Small World.

Everyone is on the list again! Yay!

We're at 100 days. Plane tickets are purchased. We're making final decisions on the hotel now--between our beloved Tropicana or the cheaper Del Sol. I'm not a fan of the unknown, hahaha, so staying at a new motel scares me!

For the more fun side of things.... We're looking for a Mickey suitcase for Grandson. Not as easy/cheap as we expected since Hubby is insisting on Mickey. I'm going to start making a count-down paper chain soon. Gotta figure out clothes soon, too!
