Thank you!! :wave2:

I thought it might be difficult to get a good viewing spot for Hocus Pocus, so yes, planning for both. And if we get a great view the first time, we can always skip the midnight show. I wanted to fit in another parade, too, but that was... not the best plan. I'm happy it's just the two of us, and we can be flexible to match Disney's last-minute scheduling.

The trick or treating is more of a mood setter for us cuz neither of us likes candy that much, but I will have a teal bag and am kinda excited about those treats. Would the as-you-go method cause a lot of added waiting time, do you think?

I would do Hocus Pocus at midnight because you will not be using "party time" to see it and it's less crowded so getting an excellent view won't be an issue.

Trick or Treat lines start at 7pm. When you pick up your first prepacked goodies at the bypass you can ask for two, I've done this. Trick or Treat lines tend to stay long until 11pm so yes, it's time consuming. Exchanging the Teal Tokens will be a bit problematic during your Oct 25th party. CM's give so much of these goodies during the earlier parties that the options become few. What they do have on hand you will be limited to 2 of this, 1 of that and a handful of Smarties and foam craft projects for young children, think Oriental Trading Co.

If you enjoy Smarties a lot, then you'll be good to go.

I like watching both parades first in Frontierland and the other on Main Street but Disney changed the times on the entertainment and made it nearly impossible to do both with all the other stuff most had on their Wish List. I really hope they change it this year to the way it was. So for now, we need to be patient and wait for this info to be released.

Is the WDWRR open during the party? Just wanting to know for planning purposes. It isn't on the list of open attractions. Thanks!

This is a great idea...For our first MNSSHP we stayed at CBR...the buses were terrible...I believe a bus broke down and no other buses could get to us waiting at the bus stops...the crowd of party goers was increasing rapidly and we were all quite angry...crowds of us were walking from one bus stop to another...we were about 2 hours later than our planned arrival and missed our first 2 FP...of course we mentioned this to front desk at the hotel the next day and they issued us replacement FP...

CBR was very generous to us that trip (upgraded to preferred room, SW airlines ruined my luggage and some of my belongings inside-CBR manager credited my account for the cost, we also received numerous additional FP for having to change rooms-original room had a water/moisture problem, manager also offered to send a gift package to our room-we never did get it but I'm thinking it went to original room.)

We would stay there again but not until construction is near completion!

I've read many reports, so happy to hear you were taken care of. I think Disney is very generous and accommodating. Did you receive a set of "Under Construction" pins? Those were cute!

No, because we were there before any construction started (Sept/Oct 2015 during free dining).

@Bex258 Hope is all well with you!

Miss You!

Hello, I was busier than I thought I would be, I had a couple of days off work and went on a few day trips. We had temperatures of 29.1°C/84°F in London the only time we've had hotter than that was in 1949 29.4°C/85°F

It's been said people just couldn't wrap their heads around the fact Mickey didn't talk at other parks. Don't they realize Magic Kingdom is "magical" so due to whining another thing gone! :sad2:

I heard that was why, so silly its not hard to tell kids its Disney magic, same as why you can meet Mickey in more than one park. He was being Mickey the Magician after all. :wizard:

We will be there second week in October. Trying to decide which night to purchase tickets for - M, T, or Th? Thoughts or suggestions? Also, my boys aren't too interested in getting pics with characters, so that will not be an issue (maybe Jack Skeleton or Jack Sparrow). Want to squeeze in rides, trick-or-treat, parade, and fireworks. Not as sure about Sanderson sisters. While I love them, not sure if I want to devote the time to staking out a spot.

I think the parks will be busy during the first half of the week due to Columbus Day weekend. I would consider Tuesday, Oct 9th which would leave the 11th as your back up day if inclement weather becomes an issue but I believe Thursday, Oct 11th would be a wiser choice.

When you've made your decision I hope you post so we can create an itinerary. ::yes::

I originally planned Thurs, but had the same thought about possible weather issues. Decisions, decisions. I thought about waiting until closer to the 60 day mark since some weather forecasts go that far out.

Yes, but the weather can change dramatically within that 60 day window. If you were to purchase Oct. 9th and the weather does becomes an issue to the extent of severe thunder storms and heavy rain Disney might allow you to transfer to the 11th or vica versa this has been done. ;)

Higher crowds are expected on the 9th so for me that's a bigger issue. ::yes::

Jack Skeleton will be your longest wait. Are you planning on splitting up using Tag Team? You'll be able to get more done if you do.

Party Tickets & Severe Weather

On Sept. 1, 2017 @pjtoadie reported severe weather during his party on Post #7213 as did many others. @Kdubya stated lines were long at MK Guest Services on Post #7226. @marciemi confirmed Disney offered replacement tickets on Post #7297 and @pjtoadie confirmed he received five - 1-Day Magic Your Way Base Tickets on Post #7557 via email.

If severe weather happens on your party go to Guest Services at MK immediately to resolve this issue. If the lines are too long you should then go to Guest Services/Concierge at your resort or call: (407) 939-7818 or (407) 939-7675 or email Ticket.Inquiries@DisneyWorld.com or wdw.guest.communications@disneyworld.com

On Sunday, Sept. 10, 2017 Disney cancelled MNSSHP due to Hurricane Irma and gave these options to those with tickets:
  • Full refund
  • Tickets to attend another MNSSHP
  • Tickets to attend an upcoming Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
  • 1-Day Magic Your Way Ticket with Park Hopper Option – Ticket must be used within the next two years
Preparing for a Hurricane: Post #7473

Party Tickets - As stated on Post #3
I highly recommend you bring your tickets with you. Disney's system isn't perfect and there have been reports year after year of issues when scanning Magicbands at the "special entrance". Also upon inclement weather Disney may offer you a refund but they require you have your original method of payment with you if purchased with a credit card.

Magicband Issues: Here are just a few posts reported in 2017, I'm sure there're more so happy digging.
@heartpumper on Post #7205
@1GoldenSun on Post #7312

I will include a link of this on Post #3 so you all know where to find it!

Just thinking out loud here, but if the 2nd parade steps off in Frontier Land at 11:15 (based on last year) and arrives at Main St 40 minutes later (11:55) and the parade is 20 minutes long, that puts it ending past midnight. Will they start the Hocus Pocus show at midnight even if the parade is still going down Main St? Or am I missing something? Thanks!

We're talking about the parade on Main Street right by the entrance. That's why I mentioned in an earlier post how crazy it was to plan. This is where I'm referring:

Haha! Sorry, waaay to much coffee for me!

11:15 - 11:35 In Frontierland from where it departs
11:20 - 11:40 On Main Street by the Castle
11:30 - 11:50 Main Street at Flag Pole - Disney added "Zootopia Party Patrol" to entertain those who gather in this area.
