I have heard that the weather has been wet all last week ….. How has this hampered your Vacation ?

I also heard that it has been very Quiet in the Parks ?

I'm subscribing to this. I've had to deal with an occasional shower when visiting Disney but I only recall one day of downpours. Besides wearing ponchos, I would be interested to know what effect the weather had on recent vacationer's. I had no idea it was raining enough to possibly put a damper on vacation. I hope it didn't ruin anyone's vacation, and I am interested in knowing what creative ways they dealt with it.

We experienced thunderstorms for hours every day Columbus Day weekend and it was a disaster. DD was in a marathon and so many girls had to throw out sneakers. My younger DD and I tried to make the best of it but I really do need a "do over" trip.

We did an extra signature dinner instead of going to the park one day and during the day we swam in the rain before the thunder began.

I live in Tampa and it has been very wet with a lot of downpours. I imagine the park crowds are lighter because the locals (within a reasonable drive) are probably staying home. It has put a damper on most of my friends holiday weekend plans like the beach and backyard BBQs. Which the high school graduations were this past week so lots of folks have family in town and had outdoor plans.

My son was there about 2 weeks ago when this whole tropical depression thing started. He did not feel that it put a damper on crowds on line waits at all. Still very, very crowded. The only park that he felt had some relief was Universal.

My friend and I were there the last two weeks with all the rain. It would start late morning or early afternoon and it would pour or sprinkle the rest of the day. We both use scooters. We put a clear plastic bag over the front of the scooter including the tiller and basket. We have ponchos on and umbrella hats. We were rockin! :moped:

We were there June 26 through July 7 and yes experienced more rain but cooler temps as well. We were at under verbal and I thought the crowds were light. I wasn't bothered but some of our party was.

Shoes that dry easily and multiple pairs! We were there last summer and DS had leather high tops, his only pair of shoes along aside form a pair of flip flops. Those babies weren't drying any time soon after the first downpour, so we went to the outlet mall and hit a great sale...and now a stop at Under Armour shoe store is a must on every trip

Real ponchos and not those from the dollar store are also a good idea. Those cheapie ones are convenient to toss in a pocket in case of light rain, but they certainly aren't durable enough for any length of time navigating a downpour.
