    Debt Dumpers 2024

That should improve once your debt is gone and you learn to live below your means. Those of us who are no longer living check to check are doing it because we changed our old ways that were causing that. Eventually savings start to build up and you have some room to breathe a little.

    Starting to get flight anxiety

I had some flight anxiety after a very turbulent flight around 20 years ago. It wasn't enough to stop me from flying but I did get some Ativan which took the edge off. I also read a book written by SWA pilot, Ray Stark, called This is Your Captain Speaking. It explained all the safety...

    Debt Dumpers 2024

We go out to eat on our birthdays (4 of us) and on our anniversary. The whole point of cutting back to free up money is to put it toward the debt/emergency fund. Pick one goal and hammer down on it like you’re mad at it.

    Separate cabin for college-age kids?

We started doing that when our kids were 12 & 15. They were very experienced cruisers. For our Alaskan cruise, it was actually cheaper than putting all 4 of us in one room with verandah. Back then, an OBB included OBC from DCL and it was tiered according to Castaway Club level. We were...

Is ~$400 more worth it for an extra night?

I would do the longer cruise. I wouln't even care that it's Nassau. I enjoy being on the ship anywhere. If it's in warm weather, it could just sit at the dock for all I care. :cloud9:

    DCL Transfer tipping

I realize this is an old thread, but are they still doing it this way these days?

Am I crazy? Would you try this?

OP here... We just disembarked the Dream yesterday from a 5-night cruise. :cloud9: :sad1: Compared to our WBPC in October, it still felt so short. I decided to give back those extra 2 days of vacation time off (the Monday & Tuesday after the concert) and take a separate cruise vacation in...

Am I crazy? Would you try this?

It’s not entirely nothing unique. It stops at Lighthouse Point.

Am I crazy? Would you try this?

Yes, it would be tight. As I typed out my original post, I realized that flying non stop to Miami and sailing out of PE would simplify things a lot. We have TSA Precheck and would use only carry ons to save time. I’m not 100% convinced I want this much stress, all for 3-nts on the Magic. I’m...

Am I crazy? Would you try this?

There are no non stop flights to FLL, MIA would have to be close enough then Uber to PE. There is a non stop to MCO but it leaves much later with a 4pm arrival time. There are no DCL cruises out of Cali at that time. Trip ins is always a must for us. Stuff happens. Ironically, we started...

Am I crazy? Would you try this?

Dh is completely "parked out". Our last visit to WDW was 2021 and we both agreed the crowds were just too much and not sure we'd ever go back, maybe someday if we have grandchildren. We live in South Jersey and fly out of Philadelphia. The concert starts at 8:00 pm and most reports I've read...

Am I crazy? Would you try this?

For our anniversary in early October, I booked tickets for dh and I to go to Vegas to see Garth Brooks in concert. I am surprising dh and he is going to be over the moon. :cloud9: The concert is Thursday, Oct 3 but when I was unsure which concert date to choose, I took several additional days...

What do you love about the Dream?

I love Satellite Falls and the Nemo mosaic in Cabanas. I also enjoy the deck 5 balconies being extra deep. Only 2 more days until we board her! :hourglass:shamrock:

3 night wish/3 night WDW vs 5 night CC double dip on fantasy

5 night cruise!! :sail::cheer2: 3 nights is way too short to get a real feel for cruising. By the time you get the hang of it all, it's time to leave. I only choose a 3 night cruise if my only other option is 0 nights.

    Next Batch of Cruises

I’m soooo disappointed that the British Isles cruise doesn’t stop at Belfast. For us, that’s a dealbreaker, so we’ll be sailing a different cruise line for our 30th anniversary. :sad2:
