Day 6 from Oakland, CA to Tokyo is a full day of travel, and Day 17 from Egypt to Paris appears to be most of the day. Day 20 is basically a full day from Paris to Orlando. There's also 4 half-day flights that include lunch, and the short hop from Anaheim to San Francisco. Sayhello

As far as I know they sold out last year's adventure. So somebody has the $$$. The two scheduled for this summer are still available. Sayhello

While there are (unfortunately) no guarantees with ABD, usually, if they are going to cancel, they do it before Paid in Full. At least that's been my experience. Sayhello

If this year follows past years, the 2025 land ABD dates should be released in early May of this year. Tobi

They've changed the Tokyo portion pretty much every year since they introduced the trip. They seem to struggle with stuff that actually appeals to everyone. I think the current iteration looks good, but it's mostly different from what we did in 2019. Sayhello

I haven't done the eVisa for Vietnam, but I had a lot of issues with the eVisa site for New Zealand (NZeTA). It was recommended that I try it during what would be daytime in New Zealand, and it worked much better. Don't know if that will work in this case. Sayhello

Sometimes your luggage doesn't actually travel with you on the trains. They'll truck or bus them to the next hotel, since suitcases don't care how long they are on the bus! :) But since this is a long distance from Takayama to Tokyo, I don't know if that's practical or not. Maybe someone...

Personally, I didn't think the bus time was too bad, considering the travel from Takayama to Tokyo has been replaced by the Shinkansen train. That was really the only excessive bus time. Sayhello

I absolutely adored the Japan ABD, and totally thought it was worth the money. We did things and went places that would never have occurred to me, and I loved those places! It really is an amazing trip. Sayhello
