3D Glasses Flying Off on Gringotts

Just had this happen yesterday, too. Thought it was the cool Jan. temps and no sweat to get them to stick on.

Tickets and Annual Pass Questions - Please add your ticket questions to this thread

I was able to link my 10-day tix originally purchased in 2011 to MDE, then book park reservations for all 10 days. I did it last year for trip this spring. There were no restrictions on pricing at all. Tix worked according to original terms as PP said.

Help me get excited about Universal....

I am excited for you to be excited! Yes, Uni is different, so yes, you and the family should try it. Life is more fun that way. There will be new experiences you will absolutely LOVE. Not everything is 3-D, BTW. Your plan for 3 full days will be great. Having some half days for resort...

    Galaxy Bowl

Yes, you can. Try opentable or if you are already there, try calling guest services. We probably didn't need them when we went during the day. Don't know how crowded at prime time, though. Have fun!

Keep it 100% Disney or pony up $$$ for 1 universal/Harry Potter day?

We do individual vacations for each. There is so much to do and the price per day drops the more days you stay. We have done 10-day WDW tix over a 14-day trip. And last summer, we did 10 days at Uni. Just sweet relaxation and fun-fun-fun theme parks. A split stay would be too costly and...

    Refillable Resort Mugs?

Sorry, no. The chip will only activate the Freestyle machines at the resort you bought the mug. And vice-versa, the freestyle cups from in the parks do not work on the resort machines.

    Several Universal questions

The park for EE will be posted in your hotel lobby on a sign. It has remained the same park for the length of our trips over the past few years. We stayed 10 days last year and it was IOA the entire week.

First Universal Trip — Club Level Worrth it?

Yes, do it. You will never see your vacation the same way again. Spoiled us for life.

1st Visit: EE/EP and HP advice please

With the EP's, you don't really have to do EE that first day. You will have enough time to see everything in both parks with your plan. To follow Harry's story, you can rope drop US, and go to Diagon Alley and Ollivanders. Keep exploring that area in detail (especially if you have an...

    Universal needs a mascot

Slightly OT, sorry. On a history of Disney Land video the story of a park mascot was interesting. Walt did not want to taint Mickey if the park was a flop, so he chose a third-tier character to represent. That was Tinkerbell. If the park failed, the movie division would be cleanly separated...

    Need help - newbies!

You will love a week onsite at Hard Rock. Remember that, unlike WDW, you are allowed to pool hop to the other resorts onsite. My teens love going over to Portofino, Royal Pacific, even Cabana Bay to swim. We have stayed this way many times without even going off property to do Sea World (just...

hopper worth the cost for one day?

Adding the where Damo's comments are heading, I think it would be great for you to cherry pick the absolute best of the headliners that Uni has to offer. Since the parks are so close together, I think of them as all one theme park anyway (not like WDW where hopping takes an hour or more). So...

Where and how do I start planning?

You put a smile on my face with this one. Well done! ::yes::

Where and how do I start planning?

This represents another phase in the evolution of vacationing. We went through this breath of fresh air style, too. We did WDW every year until the kids were 11. Now the family just keeps wanting to go to Uni. Result: we have not been back to see Micky in 8 years.

Is Universal worth trip with young kids?

We started the kids on WDW and Uni at the age of 5. There is plenty to do with the younger kids. Nowadays, we mostly pass them by, but their memories of them still remain. And we have video of the kids dancing with Barney (the purple dinosaur) that we show to their college friends sometimes.

Where and how do I start planning?

There is an absolute ton of information in the stickies here. Go to the official UO site and read what they offer. Download the UO app and begin to understand the layout of the entire resort. Come back and ask more questions if you have them. BTW, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter (WWofHP)...

Any new rumors about T2 replacement?

I like your out-of-the-box thinking here. Very creative idea to mix fun and fright. I remember when monster make-up was much longer show, too. Similar mix of entertainment for kids and adults.

    Another Hotel?

They still have capacity for EE since they only do one park at a time now. Easily doubled to spread out crowds. And another gate will help. I think the biggest issue with WDW is the staggering growth of the number of rooms without growing the square footage of the parks for the past two...

How did you take advantage of BOTH?

I did EE a few times, rode 3-5 rides, and headed back out. Made it back to the club lounge in time for breakfast. The best part is walking against the traffic coming into the park, and riding the water taxi back empty.

    I've got 6 days...

We do separate trips for WDW and Uni. This is due to the price drop over a multi-day trip. If you bought 4-day Disney and 2-day Uni tix, and compare to just one 6-day WDW trip, voila, cheaper. The next year (or two) after, book a Universal trip. With the three parks and onsite entertainment...
