So are trams running or not?

Can we talk WDW price inflation???

If WDW sees prices reaching a level where attendance drops, they'll offer discounts and increase marketing until they get attendance where they need it to be. Their pricing is more a factor of monopolistic demand -- they are the only DISNEY -- than price gouging or the like. If that demand drops...

Never thought I'd do it- Cancelled.

If they want to reply, they will. I've written twice -- once I got a generic response, the other a got a phone call. It helps if you have a specific thing you are asking for -- either some sort of refund or discount on future trips or the like. If you're just complaining, they don't have...

Suppose Chapek was fired, and YOU were named CEO…

I think that would be the point. The room rates go way up, because now you have an exclusivity you don't have otherwise. And I think that pushes the room occupancy higher -- it would be HARD to get any room at WDW under those conditions. I don't know whether they could sustain room rates high...

Suppose Chapek was fired, and YOU were named CEO…

I don't know how deserted they'd be. There are 30,000 rooms on site, which means 100,000 - 120,000 potential guests every day. If you figure the MK gets 40 percent of the guests on a daily basis, and the other parks split 60 percent, that's 40K at the MK, and 25 or so each at the others. Those...

Suppose Chapek was fired, and YOU were named CEO…

If it were totally up to me, I'd do this: I'd make the parks resort guests only M-Th and include them in the room rates. I'd focus on making sure the reports were full at all times. Doing that justifies bringing the staff back to full strength, and maximizes the potential of the properties we...

Here Now & Just Back WDW Reopening Experiences Including Park Hopping

I understand the resentment towards Genie, let me ask this: if there is no version of FP returning, would you rather have some form of Genie, or have everything be standby lines? Honest question.

Official 2021 Disney Very Merriest After Hours Thread

I know it's easy to say, but I bite the bullet and pay the extra $25 for preferred parking. At the end of the night it's a lot closer than the regular lots, and after 1 am that matters.

Official 2021 Disney Very Merriest After Hours Thread

We were there last night. A constant drizzle didn't help the overall mood, but it was a lot more crowded than the other After Hours we've gone to (we went to four pre-COVID). Plenty of snacks all night, but the only walk-ons were SW and HM. Everything else had some sort of wait. Not a huge one...

JOOC, how has the virtual queues with G+ worked so far? How long are the wait times for Mine Train if you G+ it?

Why we didn't get any free souvies as resort guests:

But the fact that someone expected it is why they don't do it. WDW gives everyone a pint -- and then the conversation becomes "$1000 a night and we only got this stupid pin! I remember when they used to do so much more!" and that becomes your post or your tweet. In an age or internet...

Serious question: Does Disney still emphasize their special brand of customer service in training new CMs?

I think this is 60 percent of the dissatisfaction with Disney -- people hear about stuff, want stuff and get upset when they think they re missing out. Things like the towel animals used to be cute little occasional benefits and then became expectations, and then became unsatisfactory results.

Serious question: Does Disney still emphasize their special brand of customer service in training new CMs?

I think it's a combination of things, but not the least of them is that everyone gets much more offended much more quickly than we used to. This applies both to CMs and guests. It used to be that if someone was rude, you shrugged it off, smiled and moved on. Now, it becomes a symptom of...

    What they've taken away

As long as message boards, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram exist, there's no such thing as customer satisfaction. Complaining is what we all do now. Any little issue gets a post, which then gets comments, which then gets likes suddenly it becomes the narrative. WDW could have an 95 percent...

    What they've taken away

WDW has taken nothing away. They've changed their services. But there's nothing anyone has paid for that is being denied them. They aren't being robbed and WDW isn't stealing. They've just changed their offerings. Gas stations used to be service stations that checked your oil and air pressure...

The Pro-Genie App discussion thread - speculate how the app could make your trip next trip great!

Because the release said next available time. I don't think it will work with the kind of hour-long windows we've been used to. My feeling is that this is a way to cycle through the line -- I don't think the Genie+ stuff is a reservation as much as a placeholder.

The Pro-Genie App discussion thread - speculate how the app could make your trip next trip great!

Why do you think that? You can only book one VQ at a time, so you aren't on your phone until the next one. I don't think it's doing time-block reservations like FPs were, so you're not shuffling them around. So why do you think you'd be on the phone all day, or more than you'd be with FP?
