What is your Disney shameful secret?

Newest Shameful Secret: I have been dormant on this site for many years and I see that this thread I started in March, 2008 is still going! My "baby" is 15 ... lol Still haven't seen Dumbo :/

What is your Disney shameful secret?

My new shameful secret that I’m only sharing here... I went to WDW several times solo (4) before I met and married my husband. Now, 8 years later, I have an opportunity to go to DLR solo when my husband has a work conference (he will be an hour+ away from DLR so I’ll head there alone in a...

    Len Testa Interview

Regarding the people mover, we experienced this during President's week. It was crazy busy in MK on a Thursday (non-EMH day) and we decided to jump on the people mover to get away from the crowds a little. I have NEVER waited long for the people mover but we probably waited 30 minutes which...

Kayak fare cheaper than JetBlue's website?

I only use Kayak, Orbitz, etc. to compare different airlines for the lowest. Then I go to the airline's site and book there. If there is ever a problem, I want to be able to deal directly with the airline and not some third party. I once found a really good fare for United on one of those...

    Len Testa Interview

Len also called this his "tin foil hat" theory. I think this theory makes perfect sense and is likely the case but only Disney and its CMs know for sure.

Paid parking is coming to WDW resorts March 2018

I am not surprised but I cannot figure out the exact reason. Is it: 1. the obvious, WDW charges more because it can (the fallback to the industry standard model)? 2. WDW wants to further discourage venturing off property (I really thought the majority of people who stay on property, do not...

    Len Testa Interview

In addition to the special events and holiday weekends another poster referenced, there is at least one specific area in MK, Fantasyland (near Small World) that is just a bottleneck. This area seems to be the one that is most often posted on social media because it's a bit of a nightmare to get...

    Len Testa Interview

Like many on this thread, I am also interested in knowing the numbers of people in the park. We were just there for President's week (I know, we're dumb but stuck with a school schedule) and it was less than fun because of the hordes of people. Sure, the wait times mattered to us and they were...

    Len Testa Interview

I also loved this interview! Hearing the science behind Touring Plans' numbers and the potential theories the data generates are so interesting. I vote for more segments/shows like these that speak to the geeks out there who like to know "how things work". Bravo!

What trendy, over used, look at me I'm so witty phrases annoy you?

"Are we having fun yet?" My co-worker says this all the time and I understand her meaning but it grates on me!! "Bae" = stupid. But FFS will never get old.

    Flights of Passage

I also get motion sickness and didn't have a problem on this ride. There is air blown into you as though you are flying which helped me not get sick.

    Flights of Passage

It was just simulated and maybe the seat moves a little like Soarin'. The simulated drops are definitely more intense than Soarin's easy-going feel but the seats themselves do not drop you. It's just simulated. And it's pretty awesome.

    Luggage and DME

I second the suggestion to pack another set of clothes! We had a luggage issue last weekend and two of our bags were missing - one was delivered. We arrived at 2:30 p.m., changed into our carry-on shorts, etc. and went to Disney Springs. We returned around 10:00 p.m. to find only one bag (the...

Disney's ART OF ANIMATION RESORT Information & Questions

Just returned and here is my review ... We stayed in a LM room in Building 9 near the stairs. I checked in through the MDE app and requested "close to transportation" and "near stairs" in that order. We were near the stairs (see the red circle and dot in the map below). Yup, it was still a...

Disney's ART OF ANIMATION RESORT Information & Questions

Us too!! I'm debating whether or not to do refillable mugs just because it will be a hassle to drag them back to our LM room before heading out for the day. haha! Maybe we'll see ya there!

    Doubletree Universal?

We stayed there for a few nights in 2010 and it was great. Some rooms on higher floors have a view of the park. The walk is very doable and like others said there is one intersection crossing several lanes of traffic but there's a good crosswalk and light there. The walk felt very safe at any...

I don't care let me in, at pop century

What happens if you're in the middle of "couple time"?! I think I would just opt in for mousekeeping and forgo the $10 per day credit. I have to make my bed at home every day, it's worth it for me to pay the resort $10 a day for that and a little privacy.

So who has gotten tix for Elton John?

ME ME!! Well, we don't have tickets yet but he is my absolute favorite and I must see him again before he actually retires. I've seen him 3 times total and all concerts were really great. As for Miley at the Grammys, she was much better than I expected her to be. As for Elton, he is old now...

Creative Vacation Responder for Email at work

I love the idea and if I were emailing you, I would smile as be happy for you! But my workplace requires something more formal which is a bummer.

    Need a crash course: Aruba

So glad you had a good time! My parents bought a timeshare there nearly 30 years ago and have been going ever since. It has grown significantly but the Aruban people are still wonderful and it's like a home away from home for our family. I hope you go back :)
