Hurricane Ian - WDW Resorts Related Updates, Planning & Discussion

CM’s at front desk at BLT are telling evacuees that they cannot bring their dogs unless they are service dogs. I always thought it was a law that during a hurricane pets *are* allowed at hotels. Anyone have any other experience with this?

    "Official" 2019 Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party - A Frightfully Festive Celebration

I booked the Plaza Garden dessert party for Aug 16 the day the new fireworks teaser video came out. Now I’m trying to figure out the best way to catch the parade. This is why it feels like our entire party time is spent waiting! It’s just me and hubby so tag teaming isn’t really possible since...

    "Official" 2019 Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party - A Frightfully Festive Celebration

I hate that they're so vague with the details of the dessert party. It's an awful lot of money to drop to figure out if I should book it or not. I've never been to the first party of anything before so not sure what to expect.

Droid Depot - anyone get this to work yet?

Yes, I got it to work through Chrome, for November 27. The one I had problems with was Oga's...took a couple of tries on Chrome before it finally went through.

    "Official" 2019 Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party - A Frightfully Festive Celebration

I’m attending the first party next week since we’ll be in town for the SW:GE AP preview. DH and I are dressing up as Jack and Sally, but with t-shirts and shorts because it’s August, and I have PTSD remembering the Halloween party I attended last September where I melted. Now the question is if...

Annual Passholder Previews REGISTRATION LINK IN FIRST POST-EVENT FULLY BOOKED

Got in for the 18th for Smugglers Run + Cantina from 5pm-9pm! :bounce: The Ride+ Cantina + Lightsaber time slots kept filling up as I was clicking on them, but that's fine because DH isn't keen on dropping $200 for a lightsaber for a last minute trip anyway :)

Annual Passholder Previews REGISTRATION LINK IN FIRST POST-EVENT FULLY BOOKED

Well, as long as these events are free, there are going to be people who sign up hoping for a “what-if.” We see it with the AP after hours events too. 🤷🏻‍♀️

DVC Resorts with the best studios?

I liked having the 2nd shower at the Poly because it was convenient for getting ready in the mornings, but the room felt dark to me, and I disliked the lack of storage space. The boat horn in the mornings was annoying too....although by the 3rd day we were so exhausted we just got used to it. I...

In a pickle! Tips/Advice needed about Thanksgiving DVC.

I'm with the others. I would drop the CCV studio waitlist. I'm a CCV owner, and I know how hard it is to get studios at CCV, especially for that week. You have best luck at SSR, OKW, or even AKL standard. But if it were me, I'd do SSR and OKW.

    Independence Day - WHICH PARK?

Yeah, I get what you're saying. It's the same reason we're doing AK in the morning, and doing MK at night. ONLY because my flight isn't coming in on July 3rd until 9pm, otherwise I'd do MK on 7/3 and Epcot on 7/4.

    ***Official July 2019 thread***

17 days to go and I still feel like I have so much left to plan. But also...don't really want to plan too much. I found on our last trip that leaving things open worked well for us because we found lots of dining availability last minute. BUT...I realize we'll have my nephew with us this time...

When are your new dates again? I seem to recall it's after my trip...otherwise I'd tell you you're free to hang out with us if you'd like :)

    Independence Day - WHICH PARK?

I never hear about anyone going to HS on July 4th...so from a crowd perspective, I'd go there. :confused3

    ***Official July 2019 thread***

Maybe this means they're expecting low crowds? Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. But...I'd much rather be touring at night than midday.

TOTW closed July 4th for paid event

I purchased this event yesterday, and it worked out to $123 per person.

    ***Official July 2019 thread***

Well, I've given up on trying to get the MK dessert party for July 4th. Today Disney announced this DVC event at the Top of the World Lounge, so I booked this for us instead: https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2019/06/members-to-celebrate-america-from-the-top-of-the-world/ I mean...it does...

TOTW closed July 4th for paid event

Oh, for sure! It made me think the CM threw in the bit about the TOTWL changing their contract with DVC as a disclaimer in case anyone complained. But it makes sense that they'd have this event and the people on the front lines wouldn't have the all of the necessary info. Two other...

TOTW closed July 4th for paid event

Also, I didn't see it mentioned in the original release, but there is a limit on booking for this event. The DVC member can book themselves plus 5 additional guests.

TOTW closed July 4th for paid event

Thanks for clarifying. It sounds like they still need a good bit of training because the first CM I spoke with told me TOTWL would be closed to anyone not at this event as well. :confused3
