we will be spending a day in Vegas on our way to Anaheim in July. DH and I have been to Vegas more times than I can count but never with kids. I'll have 2 boys 8 and 11. I would love to show them a fun day. I was thinking lunch at Serendipity, touring the forum shops to see the fountains, a ride up the Eiffel Tower and maybe the secret garden at Mirage. I don't want to be walking all day so would like to stay centrally located. Where is the best place to park and are there any other things we shouldn't miss?

You have the M&M store and the Coca cola store. They are closer to the MGM area. But I always enjoy going to them. You can always see the rides on the outside of the Stratsphere as well.

Stratosphere is not centerally located. I would also suggest m&m factory and coke store.both are next to MGM south of mirage and other places you mentioned. There is also the shark reef in Mandalay bay. I personally think both the mob museum (downtown near Freemont street) and the Atomic testing museum are great.

One thing to note. The MGM resorts are now charging for parking. Depending one where you are staying you may just want to take the bus up and down the strip.

So, if we plan to go to Serendipity at Caesar's Palace, can we park at the casino?

Caesar's has a huge parking garage that I think is free. At least it was last year. If I remember correctly it brings you out to the casino floor at the end of the slots and near the entrance to the Forum shops from the casino. You can also valet park but you will have to walk through the entire casino floor to get to the Forum.
