Added on points

I purchased 210 points at AKV on May 5th as my initial purchase into DVC (during my very first trip to WDW).

After further research, I decided I wanted to add a small number of points at VWL, so that I could go there once every 3 years.

Yesterday, I called DVC and asked to be added to the wait list for 40 points at VWL. To my surprise, the guide called me back in an hour and said that the points were available immediately and that the contract was completed, and that I can immediately use the points. Boy, was I surprised! I now have 40 points at VWL that I'm going to bank until my next use year in March 2008, and then borrow points from 2009 to take a trip there next year.

Since I'm only using a week this use year at AKV, for 2008 I'm going to have 305 points for AKV and 120 for VWL. I'm excited!!

My first trip as a DVC member will be Dec 2007 at AKV.

Quick and painless!

We tried the resale route. The waiting game was just to much for us to handle since i am a little impatient. When our first resale was ROFR by Disney we immedialtely called my MS rep and bought in at SSR. Now that we are a members, we may try the resale route for add ons since waiting for them will not be as painful since we are already members.

Congratulations! You have picked two very nice home resorts! We love early December, but this year we are doing Thanksgiving instead, and will be at our old home, OKW. We are doing AKV in March.
