Looking for advent ideas. Historically I was always LEGO or fancy candy etc. This year I found a nice one, but pricey, for The Body Shop on presale at Amazon. Other thoughts for college kids? Mine will be home the entire month this year so I would like the 25 day ones vs. the 12 days..thanks!

I make DS’s every year using little Chinese take-out boxes. I think little things like LEGO minifigures, gift cards, candy, etc and put it in the boxes, wrap them and but then on a styrofoam board in the shape of tree mixing up the numbers. He loves it!
love that idea. Do you have a picture by chance?

Thanks! Adorable. So these are actual take out boxes you wrapped in paper? How did u handle top of box? Do u resuse same set each year?

Just bought my young adult son a wine advent calendar from Costco! 25 half bottles of wine in a box with numbered slots just like a real advent calendar. He will love it. It was kinda pricey - $100.

My college kid has food allergies so I always get an allergy friendly version. We just do the chocolate. But, I got hubby one from VineBox last year that he loved!

I ordered these from Amazon. I re-use and use new ones. I just use the container, no handle and and then once I wrap them use hot glue to attach to the styrofoam. So simple.

Thanks! I ordered what you recommended and this as well to compare size and to maybe save me wrapping, lol. Great idea! And I can build a tree out of the already wrapped one IF they are large enough. I like the size of yours but the prewrapped look on the others! :)

I also ordered this lottery one for DH

I was looking at these yesterday, can you let me know if they are big enough for booze nips?

We do an activity Advent calendar here. A few ideas are getting coffee, eating out, shopping for the Angel Tree, baking cookies, going to the canvas or pottery painting place. We used to do the calendars with stuff but changed to doing a different activity together each day of December until Christmas.

No. THey are square like a rubiks cube. I sent them back. Only b/c I am going to do a standard advent calendar. Honestly I get so stumped on how to fill them I might as well splurge for a fancy beauty one and be done!

I think I saw it on another board here that someone used the cardboard tube from empty toilet paper rolls to hold nips to make an advent calendar. They wrapped them individually and then stacked them in a tree form.

That was me! I didn't post it here, because people were talking about teens, and I wanted to do it for me DD25, who is, of course, legal to drink.

Personally, if there's ever a time when I could use a nice little nip of Bailey's, it would be during the December craziness.

Yes, I have 2 over the age of 21, the others will get chocolate ones from across the pond like usual.

I got my dd the Sephora one but after reading the reviews I think I'm going to return it. I also forgot that she gets one of those monthly subscription boxes for make-up so no need for more of that stuff.
I am thinking of making one that has some teas, spices and alcohol infusions in it. I'll probably have to supply the alcohol too.
I'm not sure about my college aged ds, he'll be 20 and home so I might make him a craft beer one, (yes it is legal for me to do that ;))
