Bad Film Festival

Growing up in Greeley, Colorado, the local University hosted an annual "Bad Film Festival." A whole day of amazing movies each one more stupid than the last. It was free to get in, but you had to pay to get out. The longer you stayed, the cheaper it got to leave. All proceeds went to charity.

I have gotten to see some really BAD movies -- Ishtar, They Saved Hitler's Brain, Plan 9 from Outer Space, Leonard Part 6 (thank God parts 1 through 5 ever never filmed).

I would like to thank the Sci-Fi channel, and my husband, for subjecting me to the Science Fiction equivalant of a Bad Film Festival. Saturday our TiVo recorded non-stop volcanic disasters while we did our annual day of yard work. Late last night and now this morning, I'm realizing just how bad acting can really be.

So I ask all of you, what do you do for your loved one?

My absolute favorite bad movie is Can't Stop the Music. It is like a accident, you can't look at it and you can't look away. It is once of my all time favorite bad movies, closesly followed by Valley of the Dolls, and Beyond the Valley of the Dolls.

Can't Stop the Music
was Nancy Walker's first and last film directed (and with good reason!). Hisselfness says that it looks like they edited by just ripping out pages from the script.

What???? Has anyone not seen "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes "(yes, Dan, is it O-E-S)????? Oh how we love to watch that very, very bad movie. It's usually hours before I can face a bottle of ketchup again!

LOVE this movie! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

OH, this is fun! My best friend went through years worth of getting her friends together to watch Ed Wood movies(she would get them from Scarecrow Video, a place here in Seattle that specializes in the strange in the different). My favorite viewing was one of Director Wood's soft porn flicks (Orgy of the Dead) where she invited a bunch of her straight male friends. The guys (mostly comic fans) are going on about the fact that it was a porn and it was going to be hot, blah blah blah. And she tells them "Trust me, after 5 minutes you'll be paying me to turn it off." "No way!"

Sure enough after five minutes of strangely costumed strippers dancing (badly) for Bela Lugosi to such hot sexy music as 'Kitten On The Keys' they guys were all screaming for the remote!

My two additions to this list:

1. Grease 2, terrible but I love it.
2. Deuces wild, this came out around 2002? It had Matt Dillon, Frankie Muniz, Faruza Balk, James Franco and the worst overacting ever. It was so bad it was actually funny.
