Booking VGC for Moonlight Magic 2018

Silly me! I dragged myself up at 4:50am PST so I could grab a Deluxe Room right at 8am EST for Moonlight Madness in October 2018....FULLY BOOKED ALREADY! What is the "trick" to getting these high demand reservations? Do people book two nights out then cancel extra nights later?

VGC is VERY small with only a max of 71 rooms available (23 lock-off 2-bedrooms, 23 dedicated 2-bedrooms, and 2 grand villas).

Hi SherryILC, The date of the event is November 15th with booking on October 4th.

I got in right at 6 am and was able to get a studio. Fast fingers, sheer luck, or pixie dust. I did not walk my reservation; however by the looks of it some did as Nov 14th was sold out of studios two days ago. I wonder if the 14th will magically return to inventory over the next few days.
