BVC to Universal - best way to get there?

Our first trip "home" is scheduled for February 2006 at BVC. Still working out if there will be four of us (2 adults, 2 teenagers) or six (3 adults, 3 teenagers). We're flying to Orlando and will not have rental car. We want to spend one day at Universal. I would appreciate some opinions on whether we should rent a car for a day or take a taxi to get there and back.

Rent a car from either Alamo or National. Those two have a desk at the Dolphin. It will be quick and convenient.
