Hi! We plan to hit DL around Memorial Day(Our Anniversary) and would like some help with lodging. The only other time we were in DL was "93 and stayed at the Desert Inn-not impressed. For various reasons, cannot go the on site route, so where is the place to stay where you can walk to thr parks? <IMG WIDTH="15" HEIGHT="15" SRC="/infopop/emoticons/icon_redface.gif" alt="red face">

Just about any hotel on Harbor is within walking distance.

I've stayed at both Best Westerns and found both to be pretty good, but Best Western Park Place was better IMHO -- I'll see if that still holds in a couple of weeks when we stay there.

I wasn't that happy with the clenliness and that stuff of the Castle Inn and Suites -- was rather old and showed it.

Candy Cane Inn comes highly recommended from others, though I've never stayed there.

We stayed at the Candy Cane Inn in December. The room was small but nice and clean. The breakfast and the bus service was good. We walked to the park in the mornings then rode the bus back at night. We would stay there again!

We stayed at Fairfield Inn and loved it!!! There is an McDonalds in the parking lot and also a resturant(Millie's) in the parking lot too and Cafe Asia on the 3rd floor. It takes about 15 minutes from the time you leave your hotel until you are in the park.

We just got back from 2 days at fairfield and thought that it was wonderful. The view from the balcony was great, and the walk not too far.

Thanks for noticin me.

Well, if you can't stay onsite, then I'd say stay at the Fairfield Inn. We stayed there in August, and the staff is soooo nice, and the hotel is definitely a great value. We stayed in room 729 - all the rooms ending in -29, I believe, are larger than regular rooms because they sit in the corner of the two wings of the hotel, and have an extra alcove with an extra sofa sleeper and a desk. If you're looking for a little more space, request one of the rooms ending in -29. (1st # is floor # - i.e. 729 is 7th floor)

Have fun!!!!!

Let me give a vote for the Portofino Inn. Stayed there last Monday night and was given a nice suite that my family would've loved (they weren't with me). It was only $69! Right on the corner of Harbor & Katella, about a 10 minute walk to DL, DD, or CA.

The Anabella Hotel looks good on their website and the prices are agreeable. Any of you SoCal folks seen the property-any comments?

I wanted to see the pics again, but all of the albums seem to be password protected. Sheesh!!

Candy Cane would be a sure bet....great breakfast buffet, easy parking, clean and pleasant.

But I try priceline and snap in $40 for a high end hotel and take my chances first. Last time this got me a room at the Marriot at the convention center.:)
