So, we arrive at Aulani in just 11 days 😊😊😊 and will be there for a week. We have been once before in July and are wondering what special events or must sees are available in and around the island during the holidays. We will see the Aulani holiday show as we managed to get booked for that new event. Plus, we do have the luau on a different day at Aulani.

Are there special light displays, events, or Christmas decorations that we should check out when we are in Waikiki for the day or on the North Shore or by Kailua? πŸŽ„πŸŒΊπŸŽ„πŸŒΊ

Check out Honolulu City Lights. The event is ongoing in December and open pretty much every night, on the Civic Center grounds. It’s amazing and a must see. Huge Shaka Santa statue (google it), tons of Christmas lights and displays, and tons of competing Christmas trees on display inside the city building representing every city department. Parking is in a huge structure right there and super easy.

You’ll see all sorts of Christmas trees around the city, in hotels and in Waikiki as well.
Be sure to walk to the Marriott down the beach from Aulani and check out their marine life themed Christmas tree as well. It’s spectacular.

Aloha & exciting times. Christmas, the only spot you should check out would be the Honolulu Christmas Lights which is in Honolulu Hale. There may be some parades but I know this past weekend there were a lot. There may be a Kailua one....not too sure. Other than, that nothing comes to mind other than checking out Christmas Craft Fairs around the island.

Back in November I received this email below about a new offering at Aulani. There was another post in this forum on it recently as well. Their booking system didn’t work very well and it took a while to get through on reservations but eventually we did.

There is also that thing going on at Aloha Stadium at night....I think it's $80 a car where you drive through and see all the lights. If you have that many people that can fit in your car to make it worthwhile...it's an option.
