**Read the first post for all the latest updates.**

I didn't see a thread devoted to the 2020 DCA Food & Wine Festival, so I thought I would start one. This is my first superthread, so I hope it's helpful.

Lunar New Year and Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival Return to Disneyland Resort in 2020

On October 19, 2019, Disney Parks Blog announced that the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival will be back in 2020 and run from Friday, February 28 to Tuesday, April 21, 2020! After a few years of extending the length of the festival, this is roughly as long as the 2019 festival.

As in past years, guests can expect festival marketplaces, live entertainment, beverage seminars, culinary seminars and demonstrations, and festival merchandise.

Disney Parks Blog announces that the new Disneyland daytime parade, "Magic Happens," will premiere the same day the Food & Wine Festival begins.

December 29, 2019

Not sure exactly when this was added, but Disney has added additional activity details to the F&W event page.

You can expect to find something for everyone at the Festival!
  • Select brews, flights, wines and specialty beverages will be available at select marketplaces
  • Festival Beer Garden located in Paradise Gardens will offer a variety of local craft and brewed beers
  • Cocktails @ Sonoma Terrace will feature specialty beverages, brews and bites
Sounds like the cocktails at Sonoma Terrace are new this year.

The OC Register
is reporting new details on what we can expect at this year's DCA F&W.

For the first time ever, select restaurants in Downtown Disney will be participating in F&W, adding festival-inspired food and beverage items to their menus.

Several signature events have also been revealed (which are ticketed separately and were around $100 each in 2019):
  • Winemaker Dinner with Silver Oak/Twomey at Steakhouse 55 on Wednesday, March 18
  • Winemaker Reception with Skywalker Vineyards at Carthay Circle Restaurant on Friday, March 20
  • Winemaker Reception with Fess Parker Winery at Carthay Circle Restaurant on Friday, March 27
  • Winemaker Reception with Silverado Vineyards at Carthay Circle Restaurant on Friday, April 10
Similar to years past, 45-minute wine, beer, and mixology seminars will be hosted at Sonoma Terrance and Golden Vine Winery every weekend.

Chef demonstrations will occur on Saturdays and Sundays and will feature the likes of David Burtka, Richard Blais, Jamie Gwen, Jet Tila and Wing Lam.

The booking window hasn't opened yet and none of these details are listed on the Disneyland site, so some times and details may change.

Disneyland and Disney California Adventure will close on Saturday, March 15, through the end of the month because of coronavirus.

March 24, 2020

Various sources online are reporting that Disney has filed for permits that would allow them to extend the DCA F&W Festival through September 7, 2020.

This has been falling on dates that line up with my Annual "DIS Divas" trip. Soft openings have been a thing and a couple of years ago the smaller group I was hanging out with were staking out the soft openings. They got me hooked!

Can someone compare this with Epcot’s F&W event? What’s similar/different? We’ll be there this year and have been to Epcot in the past and was wondering what to expect.

I'm planning on being down for the first weekend and then again in March. It'll be my first time at the festival.

How does this impact crowds at DCA?
They will be heavier. The big open walkway at DCA will be crowded. The only time I saw it not too crowded was when it was rainy and cold. Other than that it was pretty packed, especially during March spring break!

🤦‍♀️

They aren’t horrible but if you aren’t expecting it, then it will be a shock.
Well, I'm expecting it now, lol. I guess I should read up on it. I was kind of expecting (hoping?) that this would be over by our trip at the end of March. Is it something that needs to be planned around, other than just being prepared for crowds? Any specific area of the park to avoid or anything?

I feel like it was most crowded in the afternoons and at night (especially Friday& Saturday night). So try using the mornings to your advantage. The booths open around 10:30 or 11, so try and get as much done before then as possible. Before the walkways get crowded.

Those are pretty basic, but I wasn't trying to avoid or plan around the crowds. If anything I was in/apart of them lol. I think the big thing I have noticed on reports on here are just the crowds in the walkways. I can't recall on how it impacted rides.

DCA’s is much smaller in comparison to Epcot. 13 booths vs 30-something, and the events and seminars for DCA usually only occur Thurs-Sun (they tried events everyday in 2018, so maybe they’ll try again his year). DCA also really upped the merchandise game in 2019.

I’ve been to 2 Epcot F&W fests, but prefer DCA. Epcot definitely has more variety, but the Florida weather (even in October) limited how motivated I was to go to as many booths as possible. I’ve also found the tasting seminars at DCA to be a bit more intimate. But both are great festivals!

We will be there for opening week, I am expecting the crowds but also excited to try some new things.

This is perfect! Thank you!

Any reviews on tasting seminars? In the past I would tell myself I would sign up for one, but never did . My birthday is in March so I could use the excuse that it’s a birthday gift lol

Are the lines for food crazy like they are right now at the holiday booths? So many treats to try but the lines...... 🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪
