First time at the Fort - we have a reservation for a Preferred site 12/7 to 12/13... just wondering how crowded the boats are going to the Magic Kingdom during the morning. We plan to go to all 4 parks and was wondering how difficult/ or how pleasant the transport is to and from the parks . We have 2 adults and a 2 children and we will have 2 strollers.
Thanks ! Angela

We have a preferred site reserved for early December 2018 for a week. How crowded are the boats that run to the Magic Kingdom? Also how difficult is the bus system for going to the other parks from that location ? This is our first trip to the fort. We will have 2 small children and 2 strollers .

Thanks !

Never been there early December, but that's a "slow time" There will still be plenty of people everywhere. Even at the busiest times the buses work fine especially if those with strollers have them folded while waiting on line. (used to work the trams and love FOLDED strollers)

Also how difficult is the bus system for going to the other parks from that location ?

Thanks !

Keep in mind Angela that the buses don't go straight to a park from your loop bus stop. The bus will take you to the Outpost where you will tranfer to another bus to a park. Since the bus schedule runs are every 20 minutes, you could add 40 minutes to your commute. Generally, the buses run quite a bit quicker than the 20 minute schedule, it's just something to keep in mind. We were there for the week of Memorial day and I don't think we waited any longer than 10 minutes for any bus.

We were there this past early Dec. and 'slow time' it was not!! Four years ago when we were there it was - not really any slow times anymore! :(

As for the boat to MK - in the mornings they can be crowded, also during evening hours - especially when at Hoop de doo times (arrivals/departures) and right before fireworks. The rest of the time were not usually very crowded.

Getting to to other parks, not hard, take an internal bus to the Outpost (front of FW) and catch your desired park bus from there. If you are leaving from the Settlement Depot, you can take any of the three (purple, orange, yellow) buses straight to Outpost. We seldom have a wait there at all (we also always stay preferred). Depending on just how you happen to arrive at the Outpost, sometimes you hit it perfect and your park bus is there - no wait - other times wait times can vary.

We don't have any issues with the boats or buses in general - most of the time they run very smoothly.

Thanks for the information- I was thinking of using good folding umbrella strollers - that way they would be light - are those ok?

The boat rides are usually pleasant. The larger boats to the mk will let you wheel your strollers on usually. For smaller boats like those the contemporary (you can take this one then walk to the mk) and the buses, you need to collapse the stroller and carry it on. This can be overwhelming if you aren't use to it. It helps if you are comfortable collapsing and lifting the stroller, have all loose things that accumulate in strollers picked up and make sure your kids know what is expected when the boat or bus gets there. It can be tough if the line is long behind you and you are struggling with your stroller while park maps and receipts blow away and you have to scream at your sweet little tyke not to run into traffic or jump in the lake!

When you arrive at the Outpost under the pavilion you will find this screen hanging. It tells you when the next bus should be arriving.
