Disney Fantasy- Oct 20, 2018 7 Night Eastern Caribbean Cruise

Have you already found an FE group for our cruise?
No. Haven't found one. Was hoping someone may volunteer to do the honours of looking after it lol. If not I could think about doing it. But would wait until the new year to start it as I'm planning on buying a new computer at Xmas time. If anyone else wants to go ahead with it that's okay too! Yes I'm a little more concerned about the weather for next year when we sail. Even thought about changing back to my original date.in December but really want to do a Halloween cruise. Such devastation in the Caribbean. So sad!

This will be our first cruise as Gold! We are seniors and love cruising Disney.
Hoping to meet some other seniors this trip. We have made some great friendships on our previous trips and look forward to making more.

Welcome aboard! Great to have more joining in on here. Looking forward to chatting with you as we all wait for this cruise to happen!

I'm praying that the islands get the help they need and no more hurricanes. I'm not too picky about where I cruise. We will be celebrating me being well and on a disney cruise. :ccat:

Hi Everyone! We booked this cruise last Fall and are super excited. It will be myself, DH, DD6 as well as my parents, sister, and in-laws. (Wait, what?!) :hyper2:
I waited until post-Christmas to dig in with planning. This cruise is a first of many's: First Disney cruise, First cruise for my daughter, and First cruise with both sets of Grandparents. I should probably pack an empty suitcase, shouldn't I...o_O

I do have one question that I haven't really seen an answer to. Since this is a Halloween on the High Seas cruise, does that mean there is a true Halloween party? As in, dress up in costumes...? I know there is pirate night which I am prepping for (including but not limited to convincing DD6 that pirates didn't actually wear pink and purple). But I didn't know if we need to bring other costumes as well. TIA!

My family (wife, then 5 yo daughter and 3 yo son) did our 1st Disney cruise on the Fantasy Western Caribbean Halloween on the High Seas in 2016. It was so awesome I booked this Eastern Carribean Halloween cruise about an hour ago. Super-excited! Can't decide if I want to tell kids now or just wake 'em up early and tell them on the way to the airport. Hmmm... Fingers crossed I can finagle my way to an early dinner seating; only had 845 available.

When we went in 2016, it was over October 31st and they had a full-on honest-to-goodness costume party and trick or treating stations around the ship. Kids got a solid haul! There was a dance party in the main area there on 4th deck (i think, or was it 3rd?) and all the characters were dressed up in Halloween costumes: Mickey was a vampire and Minnie was a witch, I believe. I got a 12 minute vid of my kids dancing with Chip and Dale and a sweet pic of me and my son in stormtrooper costume with the "real" Darth Vader and his Imperial escort. I suspect they'll have a similar party on this cruise b/c you can't really advertise it as a Halloween cruise without a real costume party.

The decorations on the ship are also really great. They put up jack-o-lantern faces in the porthole windows and there's a spooky spirit tree that lights up and 'comes alive' during the costume party to tell a ghost story.

Long story short, its a great, great time. Prepare to have a blast.

We are anxiously looking forward to our upcoming cruise. This is our second Disney cruise. Our first cruise was in 2012. We will be traveling as a family of 8, with myself, my husband, 12yo daughter, 8yo son, 4yo daughter and 3yo daughter, as well as 2 grandmothers. We would love to participate in a FE group if anyone is coordinating. Thanks in advance.

Woo hoooooo! DH and I just booked! The price was still good so we went for it. Got one of the nav verandahs/7As on 5 aft. Cozy little honemooon balcony haha. Can’t wait to join you all! We will be celebrating our 4th anniversary- we honeymooned on Fantasy at the end of October in 2014! Love the Halloween on the High Seas cruises! This will be my first cruise as Platinum and my second on Fantasy.

Hello. My wife and I (mid 30's)are going on our third Disney Cruise. We loved the Fantasy so much and we just went on a NCL and kept saying how much we enjoyed the Fantasy. It's just the two of us, no kids with a Verandah on deck 9.
Can't wait to be onboard. We will dress up for both pirate night and the Halloween night as well.
I’m going can’t wait.my husbands sister has never done one so I’m really excited for her. And I want to do the FE too.
Costume a must

Hi everyone! I’m super excited for this cruise! We are going to celebrate our youngest child’s first birthday onboard! (Not that she will remember but I will). I am interested in doing FE for the first time and was wondering if someone could point me in the direction of how I can find a group.

We are excited for our first Disney cruise. Other cruises have been great, but this time we will be with family. I hope to see info on FE.

Hi all, this will be our 13th Disney cruise, we haven't been on a cruise since 2015, we haven't cruised any other cruise lines. We have sailed on all of the ships, on smaller ships you don't get lost in the shuffle. This will be our 3rd trip on the fantasy and we can hardly wait. We hope to meet you all. We will be celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary.

Hope to meet you guys on board it would be great to sit and chat.

I'll start the Convo.

This will be my DH and my 4th cruise but the first with DCL and the first with our children (DD 11 and DS 7 at the time of departure). We are beyond excited! We have a Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with a Verandah (aft) that my husband talked me into but I'm concerned about whether the recent dry dock fixed the vibration issues guests have complained about. We had a vibrating aft room on a Norwegian cruise ship once and found it very unpleasant (especially after too much champagne ).
I'm planning to decorate my stateroom door and hoping to participate in a fish extender group. We're also planning a group costume for the 4 of us and Im planning to get all our costume stuff when everything goes on clearance after this Halloween. We're currently planning to all go as characters from one of our favorite WDW attractions and it's the kind of group costume only "Disney people" are likely to recognize.
I so looking forward to sharing our love of cruising with our kids and getting some relaxing time in while the kids play at the Oceaneers Club. Everyone I know that's done a Disney Cruise says this is the best part
We are taking our kids out of school that week so I plan to have my kids keep travel journals. I made one for DD for our last trip in 2014, full of writing prompts and places for keepsakes, plus a scrapbook-esque place at the end for photos. I'm going to have DD continue this one and make a more age appropriate one for DS who will only be in 2nd grade when we go. Not only do these give me something to work on while I wait ever so patiently but they also make adorable keepsakes.

What's the part you're looking forward to the most? Anyone else have a list of creative projects a mile long to keep you busy while you wait?!

Hey there! Just learned of this board (and the fish extender program!). It’s our first Disney Cruise as well, we are so excited. It will be me, my DH, our DD 10, and DS 8 mo. We have the same stateroom type on the aft side - deck 9. We are still debating the costumes as there are too many great ideas to choose from. We had my DD keep a photo journal with her Polaroid last Jan at WDW. She took it to school alongside some souvineers and written journal entries.

None of us have been on a cruise before, so we are all so excited about everything. I have a spa appt booked, DD wanted to do one of the pirate packages for the party. We are putting DS in the nursery one night so DH and I can go to Palo.

I love crafting so I’m still deciding how we will decorate our doorway.

Welcome aboard, I was wondering if anyone was going to post before we sailed. No one wants to post. What dining seating do you have, early or late? We have late, hope to meet you guys when we get on board. I haven't seen anything about a fish extender for this cruise at least no one has posted anything about it

Anyone know of someone that needs a roommate? I would love to do one of these cruises but I can't afford to pay double and I have ZERO friends that want/can go. so I am going through some meet pages to see if there is anyone that needs a roommate - hey you never know!
