When I go with my family, we have all sorts of countdown ideas...but this year I'm going with just my older sister. She hasn't been in over a decade so this is what I'm doing to help us count the days until our November trip (we'll be in double digits in just 21 days!).
I've been sending her an email every day since we were at 250 days out. We follow the following pattern:
Story Sunday (I share a story I picked up off these boards or from one of my Disney books/magazines.)
Movie Monday! (I give her background info on Disney movies - we started with Snow White and are working chronologically forward to Atlantis!)
Trivia Tuesday! (Random information on something Disney - a parade or a resort or Downtown Disney...there's certainly enough material!)
Website/Wallpaper Wednesday - (I send her either a website to visit or a Disney bitmap for her to use as desktop wallpaper)
Turnstile Thursday - (I send her background info, fun facts & stuff on a different attraction every week.)
Photo Friday - (I send her a picture from somewhere in the world!)
Sound Byte Saturday - (I send her a wav or midi file from an attraction or movie)
I recommend this to anyone else who's willing to do the little bit of daily legwork. We're having a GREAT time with it...but I admit that I think some of my other friends are conspiring to have me committed soon.
