Dream concierge

Smooth embarkation

It is nice to be escorted on the ship but if you embark at Port Canaveral you'll have to fight through the crowds (literally) to get to the Concierge/Platinum check in desk. Not a huge big deal but always off putting and why I prefer cruises that leave from other ports now. Especially if you haven't checked in at that desk it's sort of a surprise to have to swim upstream to get there--and not especially relaxing.

We've done 2 DCL cruises and have our next one this Fall. All 3 have been on the Dream and only concierge. My DH wasn't sold on the idea of cruising when I booked it the first time, so I went concierge to make sure it was extra special...and now he is HOOKED! Our first trip, we happened to LITERALLY be the first family let on the ship. Our concierge host came and found us, escorted us and only us up the elevator and I had a mimosa in hand by noon. We had brought our swim suits in our carry on bags so as soon as we were done with our welcome lunch, we hit the pool and my DH and DD were on the aqua-duck before most of the rest of the cruisers had even boarded. For a DH that HATES lines, that experience alone was worth the extra money! And, definitely get a cabana. Its like having your own private island. The experience is amazing :) I've never felt more VIP in my life than I feel on a DCL concierge trip. You'll love everything about it :)

Oh, and the concierge team treated my DD like absolute gold! They would play a hand of Uno with her if we stopped by mid-afternoon looking for a snack; they'd sneak her a bag of popcorn acting like it was a treat JUST for her, etc..

I find that the concierge team is always willing to do whatever they can to make your experience as special as possible. And, if you treat them with kindness and appreciation (cause, unfortunately, not everyone does!), you'll get a once in a lifetime experience!

I'm excited about this thread, as we've never cruised concierge before, but will for the first time in May. We've done a lot of research, and in addition to the fantastic points made by Trera, here are a couple of other things we're looking forward to based on what we've learned:

- Smooth embarkation and debarkation (first allowed on, first allowed off)
- Great locations in dining rooms
- Those amazing concierge hosts everyone raves about

There are also a couple of really nice Disney Dream Concierge trip reports that we've enjoyed:

Crossing my fingers for you for your cruise in May. We will be cruising concierge for the first time ever next April on the Fantasy thanks to discount offer from our WBPC that we just got off of. We never even get veranda rooms, so we thought we better take advantage and go for it.

Enjoy. You will love it.

I absolutely love Disney concierge cruising. We have a B2B on the Magic next year that I am very much looking forward too. We have yet to be able to dock at castaway so we are hopeful that at least 1 of 2 times we will make it this time. I have been looking forward to using one of those cabanas for along time. (Here is hoping we can snag one again). We love the lounge and the staff but really enjoy the extra room the 1 BR suites offer. Not sure what it will be like on the lounge deck without the hot tub to enjoy but I don't see that as a be all end all drawback. We enjoyed the canned soft drinks and the snacks in the lounge. We found the staff to be extremely helpful.
