So yesterday after DW and I, mostly her, packed up the camper. I was flushing the water system, fixing the leak, taking care of the systems. It was hot, 92, I wanted ice cream, so off we rode. I had a black cherry milkshake, she had a sundae. Truck and trailer still hooked from inspection, no need to unhook for the week. Jacks are down on trailer. Think this will be the first weekend I have not ridden the Spyder since we got it. Nearly 2,000 miles in 7 weeks. Have taken it to work most days instead of the jeep and should be able to until sometime in November.

It is a bit tight, but plenty long and level.

The backside of our site, have to watch the building leaving.

When we booked all I could get was a premium site with patio and the chairs. Although there are a couple empty sites as of Sat. Morning, that never filled Friday.

Mickey lamp rocking at the rear of this site, plenty of room. Mickey lamp is just about to the road and is a good 15 feet to the camper.
Site was level enough we did not even unhitch. I dumped the air from the bags, dropped the jacks to ground us and out the slides went.

So I got the pictures posted last night of our first outing. DW picked up the nephews and brought them to the house (albeit late). We finally got on the road and arrived at the campground. We set up with the assistance of the nephews, them taking on several tasks. Relaxed for a little while, walked the campground and then made hamburgers and hot dogs for dinner. I was enjoying an adult beverage when a dog walked by the site, our dog took off, pulling the whole picnic table with her, and well, that was the end of that drink.
Later as the sun went down, we used corn chips as fire starters to light up the campfire. Once it was cooking, it was smores time. After some time outside it was time to call it a night, we doused the fire and shut everything down.
Breakfast now, and then a walk around the campground to get some pictures and video.
@FtW Mike , this is the campground I had talked about being right off of Interstate 81. Jonestown/Hershey North. So will get more campground shots today.

So today was the end of our first camping trip. We headed out of the campground and met up with the BIL, as the campground has a no visitor policy due to covid. We met him right around the corner at the local truck stop. The nephews had a great time, despite a hiccup or two. Was a pretty good outing, Have more work to do on the trailer, have a toilet leak again. This time seams to be the seal between the floor and toilet, the replaced seal was holding water, so that was good. Time to schedule another weekend out.

Fun video. I like that perspective.

Glad the 1st camping weekend was mostly successful.

So here we are, a week out from our arrival at the Fort for Dismeet 2020. The early arrivals have hit the Fort and are gracing us with pictures. We have been working on packing the trailer, making sure we have everything. Knowing that we will forget something. DW was working on a few goodies for the trip, some banana bread....etc. A few things left to get ready, and we roll out Friday morning early headed for SC. First day is a long one, 650 plus miles. Second day and short run to the Fort Sunday are all a lot better. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

So here we go, hooked up and ready to roll in the early AM. Reba has been excited for the last two days as we have been in and out of the trailer and truck. Headed to SC first, then down to FL for the second night and finally, we are the last arrival for the DISMEET. So we will see, sounds like I will have the smallest tightest site in the loop, but that is ok. We will be rolling in early on Sunday, most likely as the sun comes up, so we can get to the Fort before Disney traffic gets a bit crazy.

Can’t wait to see Reba. I am guessing you might be in the site a little across from us which is slightly better than the site directly across from us. Maybe Ed will get the site across from us. I am pretty sure he can get that a liner in there.

Safe travels. Where did you pick to stop for the night?

We are at New Green Acres, exit 53 in South Carolina. We left this morning at 3am and arrived at the campground at 3pm. So not too bad. Tomorrow is off to Mims, Florida for the night, then an early arrival on Sunday to the Fort.

So the AC is not workin in the truck, not bad when you leave and it is 38, not so good when it is 90 out. Who suggested we do a meet in October because it would be cooler ????
Also hit a bump so bad that we broke a blade off of our ceiling fan. Unreal. Had to check all the cabinets before opening slides and found several open. Well, time for bed. It has been a long day getting up at 2am and rolling 650 miles.

Not what you want to see when you open your trailer.

New Green Acres is a find stopping point, that's a lot of distance for you guys to cover.. Crazy that you broke a blade!! The only time I saw that was when a friend left his fan on and plugged in before the slides were out.

No AC in the truck? Add it to the winter repair list?

So I did a really lousy job of keeping up with this trip. Some places had sketchy wi fi, some forgot to give us the wi fi password. So day two found us rolling out of South Carolina, and finding a truck shop to fix our AC on a Saturday. Once the AC was recharged, and a new plug, seems the old one cracked letting the freon out. We continued to head sound and made it to our second stop, Seasons in the Sun RV Resort in Mims, Florida. It was a nice campground with a welcoming committee, until they found out we were not their snowbird neighbors and they returned to their campers disappointed we were only transients.

Just below our site looking uphill

On Sunday morning we got up got the trailer ready and headed for the Fort. Short drive down 95 cross 528 and a skip down I4 to 192, a turn on to World Drive and we were on our way....we arrived and our site was ready. We were given 1119. So we pulled away from the security gate and rolled thru the checkin area headed for our site. We arrived in 1100, threaded our way thru the site and interrupted the morning puzzle time being hosted over on Bamaed's site. So the whole group came over to meet us, I got our said hi and to also survey the site we had to back in to. Backing in went smoothly and we were home for the week.

Well the truck garnered quite a bit of attention during the week. Tiggerdad was setup opposite us with his Halloween decorations. As one continued thru the loop the next turn wow'd the folks with bishoparc's display honoring the Haunted Mansion.

We left home with just about 1/4 of a tank of diesel, from our last fill up on 5/31/2019. We fueled up in Raphine, Va to the tune of 162 gallons.

122137388_3648871328467823_7521662481149702572_n.jpg

As we fueled up the sun was just coming up. We fueled on the return trip in Columbia, and this time dropped 170 gallons into my tanks. I stopped in Raphine once again to top off my tanks as it is best to store them full or close to and added 43 gallons this final time. So I am close to full and ready for next camping season. We spent just below $700 in fuel costs, but we joined TSD before the trip and that fuel card saved me $200. So well worth the small effort to get the card.
