From figure skater to 5k

Hello all and welcome to my 2013 Disney 5k resolution!

Let me start by admitting that, although I've been figure skating for 20 years, I can't run to save my life. Over the past few years I've increasingly been interested in runDisney. Realizing that the Princess half is out of the question, I figured a Disney 5k would be a lil more manageable.

This thread will chronicle the adventures of, not only becoming more heart healthy and gaining more stamina (definitely beneficial to skating), but also [hopefully] achieving the goal to participate in the ToT or F&WF 5k this year.

:yay: good job!! I love the pictures from your runs!!!

Last weekend i ran my first 5k--Color Me Rad at the Tampa Fairgrounds. It was awesome! The energy was high and the hosts were great. As a newb, it was the perfect start.

They had several powered dye stations and two liquid dye stations. The liquid is awesome b/c it stuck to the shirt better.

Here's the aftermath :)
