Going from Wishes to Escape

We currently have a wishes package booked but we might drop below the 20 person minimum for guests. Can we speak with Disney to try and get them to switch it to escape if necessary? If not, I know we'll likely still need the minimums for 20 people but how does that exactly work for food and beverage if you are charged per person? Also, would they let us change reception venues?

DFTW doesn't make you downgrade to an Escape if your Wishes guest count drops below 20 people. You just pay the per-person minimum expenditures for 20 people. So, if you were having a brunch, for example, you'd need to spend $2,800 total (20 x $140) on food, drinks and cake. It doesn't matter how you get to that number.

If you have 15 people eating a $125/person menu and drinking a $25/person bar package and your cake costs $25/person (for a total of $2,625), you'd just need to find a way to spend another $175 on food, beverages or cake. You could add something edible that folks take with them, like Mickey Crispies, or another bottle or two of something fancy to drink.

It is very easy to switch reception venues if the one you want is still available. They just have you sign an addendum to your contract.

Is it possible to downgrade? Not sure if it would ultimately save us any money but just curious.

Supposedly, you lose your entire Wishes deposit when you downgrade to Escape. But a few brides have reported recently that Disney just applied their Wishes deposit to the cost of the Escape package. Talk to your sales consultant (the one who drew up your contract) to see what they can do for you.
