DH and I are planning our 25th anniversary Hawaiian celebration! A couple of notes: we have both been to Hawaii before, but never for a vacation, and only to Oahu. We are planning on 3 nights in Waikiki which is when we will do all of our Oahu touring. DH wants to spend one day there body surfing, hiking Diamond Head, and maybe something else if we have time. We are planning on one pretty full day at Pearl Harbor and so then we have the evenings and one more full day for ???? We both have been to north shore, but we were chaperoning, so really didn't get to tour ourselves. We then head to the big island for a week, all we know we want to do there is the volcanos. We are staying in Kona and will drive, not changing these plans as we have a condo that is a week rental and no money for "extra" nights on the other side of the island. And we don't mind driving. Finally, we'll head back to Oahu for a stay at Aulani to relax before we head home. Any suggestions for our extra day and evenings in Waikiki? Thinking of heading to the east shore area? And also ideas for the big island other than the volcanos? TIA.
