Hello,

We are planning our first trip to Disney as a family for December of this year. My wife is a Disney fanatic, having gone several times in the past. She has always gone the extra mile for the people she has gone with. However, this time I would like to surprise her with something special, and never have gone myself I am kind of lost so any suggestions would be appreciated! I don't think a spa day or massage would work out, and I have seen the suggestions of a romantic diner, so for this option, what are some of the best restaurants for this? Any suggestions are extremely welcomed :) Thank you!

Custom Cake to your room is always a nice option! Cali Grill is a great idea for dinner, you could book it for the evening during the fireworks show and the restaurant plays the fireworks show music inside and dims the lights, it's very nice.

The Cali Grill seems to be a popular idea from what I could gather so far :) Having never been to WDW before, is the Cali Grill anywhere near Port Orleans to include a carriage ride before supper?

No Cali grill is at the Contemporary Resort (near MK) at the top of it. The carriage rides at Port Orleans are nice, the grounds at Port Orleans FQ and Port Orleans Riverside are very pretty. If you do decide to do that, you could do the ride and then hop the boat from POR to Disney Springs and have a nice meal at any of the restaurants there, there are some great restaurants at Disney Springs.

Cali Grill as others have said is usually the first suggestion, but any of the signature restaurants would be very nice. Also check out the available in room celebrations you can get. They have everything from cakes to welcome packages to champagne service.

California Grill will be a special experience for your wife. Try to make the reservation (180 days out) for about 2-3 hours before the MK fireworks. It’s a long slow paced meal and they will Time your meal perfectly so you can enjoy the show.

Look into the dessert fireworks parties. Also you can rent a pontoon boat for $45 per half hour. Or, look into the Keys to the Kingdom tour.

Wayanama Safari..... It’s a behind the scenes tour at Animal Kingdom Lodge with an animal specialist and it’s followed by a large Safari style dinner at AKL. Great food but also the opportunity to learn about the resort and how animals are cared for. Also, you get really close to the animals.... I had a giraffe try to lick my face!

Really fascinating.... I surprised my husband with this a few years ago for his birthday. One of the best experiences we have had at Disney.

You can watch the fireworks from a boat on the lagoon, and have dinner (and cake) catered to it. It is pricey, but worth it. We timed it for a night the park closed early for MVMCP and watched the holiday fireworks from it.

Dinner at CG is fantastic and you can watch the fireworks afterwards. One of the tours would be neat as well. would she like a dress from the Dress shop at Disney Springs? They are so adorable and perfect for a Disney fanatic gal!
