I'm really excited to be starting a PJ! I've wanted to do one ever since I joined the boards but with school, I was always too busy. Now that I'm on a break, I figured this would be a good time to start! :)

A little about us: I am 25 and am currently a law student at Stetson in Gulfport, FL. I just finished my 2nd year and can't wait to be done! :woohoo: I moved to Florida from New York when I was 5, so I've basically been a Floridian my whole life. My family took vacations to Disney every year when I was little, which is how the Disney obsession began, as you can see from this photo (don't mind my brother who was all about the Ninja Turtles :))

Josh is 26 and is originally from upstate New York. He is currently a student at USF studying to be either a middle school or high school teacher. He graduates a week before our wedding!

Well, I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to put up here or what I'm supposed to talk about, so if you have any suggestions, they will be greatly appreciated :flower3:

I guess I'll start with the most important thing to every bride, the dress!

And my garter (of course both of us are Yankees fans ;)):

Ok, here is the bridesmaid's dress, but it will be all red/cranberry w/out the black:

My mom is actually my Matron of Honor, so we're still trying to decide whether she will wear this as well with some sort of bolero jacket over it. The only problem is, I also have a Maid of Honor, so I didn't want her to feel bad if I put my mom in something else. Any thoughts on that situation or if you have seen any nice MOB dresses that would go nicely with this dress would be great :)

I guess the last picture I'll post is the Save the Date we sent out. This was some project!!! I actually saw this idea on here and we loved it, so used it and added our own touches to it. We made them into magnets (many hours of cutting:scared1:) Nobody knew that we made them, they thought Disney did, which I guess was a compliment, but it kind of stunk because we didn't get any feedback on them unless we asked and then had to inform the people that we actually made them.

Finally, I'll quickly post about our plans right now for the weekend of our wedding. The Friday before the wedding, we will be having our Rehearsal and then our Rehearsal Dinner at the California Grill in the Napa Room from 6-10 (so we can see the fireworks) and then we're going out for our Bachelor/Bachelorette party! On Saturday night, we are planning to have a Welcome Dinner at Chef Mickey's (hopefully). The problem with this is that they limit the party size to 50 people, it has to be at I think 5 pm, and I can't book it until September. I'm hoping this does work out, though, because Josh and I love it there. We go every year for my birthday. party:
Sunday, we get married! The ceremony is at 5 pm at the WP, the Pre-Reception at 6 pm in the Whitehall Room & Patio, and the Reception from 7-11 pm in the GF ballrooms.

Even though, at times, planning this wedding has been very stressful, we are both so excited for it and I am very excited to share the planning process with all of you! You have all been so helpful so far, I just hope I can return the favor to new brides once this is all over!

Oh my goodness, you look STUNNING in your dress. I love your save the dates you did a great job. And your bridesmaid dresses are gorgeous also. I can't wait to read more!!!

Aww thank you!:goodvibes I definitely have much more to come including our planning session last Friday! :yay:

Hi!

Pretty dresses! We are doing the Napa room too for our welcome party/rehersal dinner and depending on how the rest of our wedding plays out we may be having a breakfast at chef mickeys.

I LOVE your save the date magnets - they totally look like disney did them. Don't feel bad, we put weeks into our save the dates and almost no one said anything about them - even some of my closest friends, I eventually had to call/email to make sure that their packages had actually arrived and not gotten lost in the mail.

I can't wait to hear about more of your plans!

Thank you! :goodvibes Yeah, we were kind of bummed that not many people said anything, but we were really happy we took the time to make them ourselves and get exactly what we want (and cheaper! :thumbsup2)

Now up: wedding colors and tuxes!

We decided that since our wedding is 5 days before Christmas, one of our colors should be a shade of red. Since the bm dresses are cranberry, we chose to do that shade. I am not very good at coordinating colors, so I have to admit that trying to pick our colors was a little stressful for me. Well sticking with the Christmas theme, I decided that our other color should be ivory (my dress is ivory) and then silver/platinum as our accent color.

First I'll talk about the tuxes and then tie it in with my concern with the colors we chose. So we decided to go with Men's Wearhouse for the tuxes. We picked the Bella Luna Vests (Josh liked the striped Euro Tie ), Josh in the ivory vest and tie and the groomsmen in silver/platinum.

Well, when we went to talk to the people at Men's Wearhouse, the girl working there gave us the hardest time! First, she gave us attitude for coming to register so far out from the wedding. I figured the earlier, the better to give the guys time to get it done. :confused3 Guys always procrastinate! Anyway, she gave us a really hard time about putting the guys in silver. First she wanted us to put them in cranberry to match the girls but when we said no to that, she tried to make a strong case that we really shouldn't be doing silver with ivory and that usually ivory goes with gold. I understand that those colors are more similar, but can't ivory and silver look nice together too?

So now I'm somewhat doubting the color choice. Has anyone else had these colors together and maybe have pictures? It has me a little worried.

Ok, now onto something more fun and less stressful. :cheer2: I was worried about what type of favors to get our guests that they would actually enjoy and use. After browsing the internet for many hours, we decided to instead go with a candy buffet! I'm so glad we chose to do it, because it has been so much fun picking out different containers for the candy and picking out the candy too! We are definitely going to do some sort of candy cane sticks and we also chose to do Hershey's Hugs and Kisses and M&M's. (Unfortunately, I bought like 10 bags of M&M's before Disney informed me that all candies had to be individually wrapped so I'm going to have to wrap the M&M's in little bags) On the bottom of the kisses, I created a design with Minnie kissing Mickey and then put our initials on the sides of the picture and printed them on 3/4" round labels. Here is the picture I used:

We are kind of using this candy buffet I found on the internet as a guide for ours (but coordinated with our colors):

Here is my favorite container :lovestruc

And here are the bags for our guests to put the candy in:

We also got these little scoops, which I hope we can still use:

If you have any suggestions for the candy table or a good candy to have I would definitely appreciate them! :cutie:

Finally, I got to visit my dress this weekend while putting the deposit down on my mom's dress, so my mom took a picture of us visiting: ;)

Ok that's it for now! Next up, the planning session! :cool1:

If you want ivory and silver - go for it! Just because it isn't a typical combination doesn't mean its bad. We want to do a candy bar too! I didn't realize that all candy has to be individually wrapped! That sucks! Are there different rules if its inside or outside?

Congrats on the engagement! Everything sounds so lovely and that dress is gorgeous on you! You look like a princess! princess:

That candy looks delicious! I may steal that idea for my home reception. :goodvibes

I love your save the dates!! Where do u buy the papers for those? I am also planing on doing a candy bar at my home reception I have been looking at this site to buy candy because they sell it by color.

That sucks they all have to be individually wrapped. Here is also a picture I have been looking at for inspiration.

Thanks, yeah I'm hoping it will look ok. I guess if I'm just using silver as the accent color, it won't be such a big deal. As far as the candy, I was told by Disney Floral that they needed to be wrapped. However, Disney Floral also said we'd have to set up the table ourselves since we are providing our own containers, but my planner said to just provide the containers beforehand and they'd set it up. So who knows, but it's probably better to have them wrapped anyway for sanitary purposes. :confused3

Thank you! :goodvibes I really like the idea of a candy buffet b/c it seems to be a hit w/ the guests and it's a lot of fun to plan it. I also think it's another way to project you and your fiance's taste through your wedding (and you can add in stuff that you loved as a kid :))

Thanks! I bought the magnet paper at Staples, they have 8 1/2 x 11" sheets, so I was able to fit 3 magnets onto one sheet. Here is the link for the magnet paper: http://www.staples.com/office/suppl...t-Sheets_85927_Business_Supplies_10051_SEARCH

Thank you for the website too! I love it! I can't wait to show Josh! :yay: That picture is awesome. I may have to use that as inspiration too!;)

Hi Jen! :wave2: Welcome and congrats! I love everything so far! You look so beautiful in your dress, and your BM dress is so classy and lovely!! :goodvibes The groomsmen in my wedding (and my DF) are all wearing the bella luna style vests too! Hehe. I'm also doing a candy buffet for our favors too! So obviously, I approve of those choices! ::yes::

Can't wait to read more! popcorn::

Hi! Thank you, you're so sweet! :flower3: I think the Bella Luna style is nice b/c it doesn't look too "casino dealer" like ;) and I have to admit that I agree with Josh about the striped ties. What color are you doing them in?

Yay for candy buffets! :yay: I just love them! Have you thought about how you want it to look yet? I've found some great (and cheap!) containers at Marshall's/TJ Maxx and Walmart! Oh and Burlington Coat Factory (not sure if they are all over the country) had some great ones too.:cool1:

You're most welcome! And thank you! I definitely agree! I think those vests are really nice. Some of those vest patterns are too busy for my liking! My DF wanted the euro style ties also! Jason (that'd be the DF of mine) will be wearing the platinum. Our colors are teal and dark purple, so his best man will be wearing oasis, and the other groomsmen will be in lapis. :thumbsup2 It should be nice!

Which, by the way, I think you could make the ivory/platinum work. It's YOUR guys' wedding! There are no absolute rules on colors or something! You do what you two like! :cutie:

Candy buffets are so awesome! I have a few example pics of how I want ours to look. I'll share 'em with ya!

I just found this PJ! can you beleive I had the SAME snow white dress? We went to disney every year as a family so it's really special to me as well. Now my family makes a tradition to go every year at Christmas for 2 weeks, so maybe I'll see you around! :)

Best of Wishes and I LOVE THE CANDY BAR YUM.

Congratulations and welcome!!! You make a beautiful bride and I am excited to hear about more of your plans!!:cool1:
