Hi all we just got back from a nice visit a VB (3days) and OKW (4days), It was our first visit to VB and we we really loved it and found it to be very relaxing. We really enjoyed the beach and warm winds, took the 7 mile bike trip one day it takes you along the inter coastal waterway, really recomend it. we stayed in bldg 14 which is close to everything.
At OKW we stayed in one of the new bldg's,64, it was really nice nice view of the 16th hole and the main entrance. OKW doesn't change much guess that's why we like it. Did get to spend some time with Russ at the GS and enjoy his famous Daquires. We only went to EPCOT and DD crowds were not bad at all,May is a good time to go. We drove most places however did take the bus once to DD, service hasn't improved much waited 30 minutes both times.
Oh by the way was really disapointed at what they are doing to the Beach Club with the Villas really going to spoil what was once a great hotel.

If it's any consolation, I was at OKW (also in building 64!) a week ago, and we spent 30 minutes looking for a parking spot at DD.

Yes we went the Monday evening for Pleasure Isle. and there appeared to be plenty of parking then and again on monday for shopping in the am and again there was plenty of spaces.

Did you rent the bikes at Vero BEach? Any need to make advance reservations for them? My wife & I are going in a couple weeks. Any inofrmation would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,
Yes we rented the bikes from Eb & Flo's at the resort think they were $5/hr for members $8/hr for non members, also there are prices if you want them for the whole day. They have adult bikes and small ones for kids and they have plenty shouldn't need to reserve them. They provide a map of the trail its about 7 miles took us a little over an hour to make trip.Florida is very friendly for bike bike riders lots of sides walks nice trails, roads have a white line for bikes and drives are very courtious towards bikers.
Have a great time!!

Thanks for the great information and quick reply. We look forward to enjoying both Vero Beach & the bike trail.

is building #64 close to the pool and hospitality house. Which pool is the best for kids. Do any of the pools have a water slide?

Building 64 is just about equidistant between the main pool at the hospitality house and a quiet pool. There are no pools at OKW with slides.

As a DVC member we never thought we'd really get into pool hopping....until we went last week!! :) We pool hopped 5 days...once to WL, once to PO (FQ), once to the Polynesian, and TWICE to Stormalong Bay (AWESOME POOL!!!) Each and everytime we called first to ask if the pool was at capacity and if it was ok if we came over to pool hop (letting them know we were DVC members, of course) Each and everytime we got a "Sure, come on over." At no time were we questioned or asked to leave.

We hope pool hopping is here to stay, now that we've done it and love it.

HTH,
ohiominnie :p

Gallahad,
The Beach club used to be lovely fun hotel with great views on either the front or back (epcot) side, great pools and restuarants, not real crowded. Now they are sticking this huge addition on the small space in front of the hotel blocking any views from the hotel toward epcot. I think it looks hideous and will just add to the crowds at the great pool and restuarants .
