After a sleepless night for me (I've never slept in the same room as my dad before...when my husband snores I can kick him but I couldn't do that to my dad!!!:)) we were up around 8 and off to MK. The crowds were great...it looked very crowded, but the rides were all either walk-on or less than 15 min. waits. Austin decided to do Adventureland first, and off we went. We managed to be first in line when the boat arrived at the Jungle Cruise, and the driver asked Austin if he wanted to drive!! So Austin "drove" the whole time (as I'm watching with tears in my eyes and my dad is videotaping like crazy). Of course, the "captain" is still doing his talk and Austin is convinced that he's really driving this boat. Every two seconds he's yelling about the elephants coming up, or the snakes, or the hippos...his mouth never stopped the whole time - It was priceless... and when the captain had everyone clap for Austin at the end the shy little smile on my son's face was just precious. What a magical start to our day!!

We then did Pirates (and I HATE how they dump you into the store afterward...one huge pirate sword added to the stroller), then Splash Mountain (which my dad didn't go on). We stopped at the Shooting Arcade and my dad taught Austin how to shoot a gun (great fun for him since I hate them). It's times like that that I treasure most...with the whole family there it's hard to stop at places like that - we are always rushing to the next ride.

We stopped at Columbia Harbor House for lunch - the chili in the breadbowl was okay - not as great as I'd hoped. Then onto the HM and then Peter Pan. The Pooh ride was a 45 min wait and the fastpasses were for several hours later so we skipped that - and then we went to Tomorrowland. Austin was great - we told him the wait times for each ride and he decided whether to go on or not...so he chose to skip the Speedway even though he loves it.

We got fastpasses for Buzz and then went on the Tomorrowland Transit thing...very relaxing and Austin wanted to see if Space Mountain was "still scary" - uh huh...not this time. "Maybe when I'm seven I'll go on it, Mom" he says :)

We were 10 minutes early for Buzz but the guy let us in..and Austin thought it was SO COOL to be able to go to the front of the line. He loves this ride. By this time we were tired - my dad especially - so we went back to DL for a rest.

On to Epcot - where it was very apparent that this was a different sort of trip. Now, I LOVE the big fountain - I could sit and watch that thing for hours - but we had always been rushing to do things and stick to my schedule. This time, Austin discovered the fountain too - and he spent at least 10 minutes watching it..there were Christmas songs playing and the fountain was beautiful and I wasn't chasing my toddler.......perfect!

We got fish and chips in England - yummmmmm - and then went back to Spaceship Earth. Our plan was to leave then well before Illuminations and the crowd that goes with it - but we saw on the board that Test Track was only a 30 min wait. My dad had slowed down considerably and I urged him to go back to the room, but he pushed us to go on TT and said he'd wait.

So we get him set on a bench and run up...and then Austin has to pee. (Of course, he didn't have to go 15 seconds ago when I asked him BEFORE we got in line...:)) - So off we go to pee and then got back in line. We waited maybe 15 minutes....great luck. We've never been on this (and my husband was insanely jealous that we got to go) - it was terrific! I tried to video it for everyone back home to see...but after we almost got hit by the semi I had to put it down...what I did get on tape is a hoot though!

We limped back to DL - my dad was really hurting by now - we had done too much. It was a great day though - a great start to our little vacation

What a wonderful day you had. It must have been a real treat for you and Austin.
