Nichole's Wishes PJ 10/24/2011 ~ WP/ADH/SCP ** OUR WEDDING DAY ~ The Reception

Nichole, how on earth are you going to (or have already) choose which photos to put in your album???? They are all stunning. I think that choosing which pics to have in our wedding album was the hardest thing to do with the wedding as there were so many to choose from. Looking at your pics, I'd say you need maybe 4 or 5 albums to be able to use as many as possible!!

Your whole day sounds so special and we haven't even heard about the reception yet. Can't wait for more.

Beautiful ceremony Nichole, I love how you decorated the WP, it looks stunning!

And it's so cute Rev Jack also dressed to match your theme!

We have chosen the same vows :)

Congratulations Mrs!!!! xxx

I have no idea!! It has taken me 3 months to get the photos down from nearly 6000 to the bunch I have now! I love photos so much though, I am ok with having 4 to 5 books ;)

Thanks so much!! And good choice on vows :thumbsup2

Immediately after we exited the WP, we were directed to walk around back while Maxine and her assistants got everyone out of the WP and lined up for the petal toss. This was the first time DH and I had to talk all day, so we were just chatting about everything while I switched my rings to put the wedding band on before the engagement ring. Little did we know, Randy was there taking pics of us :)

Then it was time for us to make our way back around to the front. Honestly I can't remember if we took a couple pics of the 2 of us before the petal toss or not. I want to say we did, but I can't be sure.

My dress made the perfect little shelf for the petals to collect on! All DH and I could do is laugh about it. Luckily, I was able to take out the little collection when I edited the photos.

The petal toss was such an experience! I can't even explain how much fun and how great it was! We laughed the entire way!

But one thing I hadn't thought about ... the sun was so bright and I didn't have sun glasses! So we are squinting a bit in these photos, but I love them all the same!

Then it was time for us to get in the limo to drive around the parking lot while the majority of our guests got onto the bus to head to cocktail hour at ADH.

I am editing our wedding video right now with Stan also. I ended up having him cut this part of our video short. I like the shots of us in the limo, but the driving away part I didn't care for, mostly because of the green walls around the WP. He is putting in a sequence of the WP instead. The last thing I want to remember is those ugly green walls!

WOW, WOW, WOW is all I can say

Everything looks AMAZING!!!

Can't wait to see the reception pics...

The ceremony was so beautiful to read...Thanks for sharing! The WP was so gorgeous.

I agree-I laughed the whole way with our petal toss...It's is quite a fun experience!

Thanks so much! I will hopefully get through those this weekend!

Thanks! I pieced together the parts of our ceremony to come up with exactly what I wanted, so it is so special to me.

After the majority of our guests got onto the bus to ADH, our limo pulled back around and we took a ton of photos. First Randy wanted to utilize the petals on the ground from the toss before they picked them up (and they are so on top of all of that stuff!).

3CouplePhotos007.jpg
3CouplePhotos012.jpg
3CouplePhotos019.jpg

Then we slowly made our way back into the WP to take family and wedding party photos. Of course we stopped every couple feet to take more photos.

Once we got inside, our family and wedding party were waiting. We needed to get these “formal” shots done before the floral was moved to ADH. Normally, I am not a big fan of these type shots, but they are starting to grow on me a little bit.

4CouplePhotos003.jpg

And some other shots of the two of us inside the WP.

I think we did family photos first. These were your traditional posed shots, but you can’t really get too creative with family photos.

One thing I did forget to ask for was a combined shot of all the families. Oh well!

Then we did a traditional shot of the entire wedding party.

1WeddingParty016.jpg

And finally we got to have some fun!! I had seen a few shots where the groomsmen hold the bride, so I had wanted to try it.

1WeddingParty026.jpg

Then DH had to get in on the fun.

1WeddingParty029.jpg

And of course try it for himself! Mind you, I had 4 bridesmaids and he had 5 groomsmen plus 2 ushers, so our numbers were a bit off!

1WeddingParty034.jpg
1WeddingParty040.jpg

I had also seen this shot on the boards I think. His guys could not understand how to stagger themselves, so this is as good as we got. I am pretty sure we spent a good 5 minutes explaining what they needed to do too!

1WeddingParty047.jpg
1WeddingParty049.jpg

Now my girls on the other hand had no problem!

1WeddingParty056.jpg

They we moved outside of the WP. Randy had everyone take a handful of flower petals with them so we could get some more petal shots. There is something so fun and magical about being showered in flower petals!

We started with a group shot

6CouplePhotos001.jpg

and then Randy counted down and everyone threw the petals.

6CouplePhotos004.jpg
6CouplePhotos005.jpg

Then we took advantage of the petals outside again and took some more wedding party shots.

And a couple of just the two of us before they cleaned up these petals too.

We moved out to the bridge to take a few more wedding party shots. These are my favs!

Then, our family and the wedding party got on the bus so they could enjoy some of the cocktail hour. Meanwhile, we stayed around for some more couple shots!

I love your groomsmen and Usher photos Nichole, and the one of you all outside the WP.

The petal toss photos are great, I love the black and white photo with just the petals in red, love Randy's work!!!

Look forward to reading about ADH. xxx

Looks fabulous!

Thanks so much!! I am almost through the reception photos :cool1::woohoo:

After everyone left, the sun was starting to set, so we finished up a few more shots outside around the WP.

And then we got back into the limo and headed over to the Boardwalk.

Once we arrived Randy was there waiting to take more pics.

We got a few shots inside, but mostly we went for the outside photos.

I love the stylized edit Randy did to this one -- it looks so old fashion!

We needed to go inside at this point to get the reception started. But, Randy pulled us back out once the dancing started to get a few more shots in the dark. Of course DH pulled off his tie, vest and coat as soon as the dancing started, so we had to put him back together first!

Up next ... the reception (finally)!!

Um, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the picture by the gates and in the bride's vestibule! So different! So fun! Love them!!

Each picture is so beautiful. Love all the wedding pavilion ones.

I agree with the poster above about the gate pictures - those are so awesome! You both look very happy - congrats!

Woo Hoo - I finally made it to our reception!!! So far I have narrowed down our reception photos from a couple thousand to around 700 - so I still have some more work to do, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel!!

Our guest had arrived before us, but one thing almost everyone noticed was the marquee. We had gotten copies of most of the photos our guests took and just about all of them had a shot of the marquee!

1AtlanticDanceHall002.jpg

Compared to the standard little sign, we think the marquee was money well spent!

1AtlanticDanceHall001.jpg

The sun was setting on the Boardwalk by the time we made our way to ADH. We took a couple pics outside before we were rushed inside to talk to the DJ and have a quick drink/snack before the cocktail hour was over. We walked in to ADH and I got the first glimpse of my "vision" coming to life. It was so surreal! Maxine was talking to me when I walked into ADH. I couldn't tell you what she was saying, but I was so blown away by how perfect everything looked! After a really long day and a roller coaster of emotions, I gave her a big hug and started to tear up. Everything looked perfect!!

Our DJ, Steve Dunlap, came to talk to us and go over the evening's program. I think we changed a couple things and gave the pronunciations for a few peoples' names. He was so nice and energetic!

So meanwhile, our wedding party had joined everyone upstairs for the cocktail hour. Randy also went upstairs to get a few pics before the dinner started. Maxine had everything set up upstairs during the cocktail hour and then moved it all downstairs while we were eating.

We had a table with our card box and engagement album.

1AtlanticDanceHall025.jpg

Then there was a separate table for the guest book. I had a friend take the pages and pass them out during the cocktail hour, so the guests could each complete it. I also had someone pass out the pages to the guys while they were getting ready and I passed pages out to the girls while we were getting ready. Reading them later was so much fun! We now have the book in our living room as a coffee table book.

1AtlanticDanceHall030.jpg

And our signature frame.

1AtlanticDanceHall029.jpg
2CocktailHour.jpg

We had the Mickey chocolate heads as escort cards. They were set out on a table as well.

1AtlanticDanceHall028.jpg

There was a bar upstairs and a center table with the cheese display. It looked super yummy!!! We sampled a little bit, but I was sad to miss it!

2CocktailHour098.jpg
2CocktailHour099.jpg
1AtlanticDanceHall032.jpg

The guests found their escort cards and made their way to the dance floor for dinner. Meanwhile, Maxine hid us in the other staircase. Literally, we waited in the staircase. I have to admit, it was kind of fun! It was at this time we learned that people who said they were not coming had in fact shown up!! At that point I was so over caring about the minor details. DH and I just looked at each other and shook our head. Maxine was so great! She said they are on top of it and can fit her in at table 3. So crisis avoided I guess. But still, who does that!?! Getting our final numbers was crazy to begin with. We didn't know how many people my brother from Brazil was going to bring with him. After my brother's wedding last summer, I was aware of it, so I was prepared. He only ended up inviting an extra couple, which wasn't too bad. And we had a cousin who didn't show up... didn't tell us she wasn't coming... just didn't get on the flight (and she was one who changed her mind and we had to make room for at the last minute)!! Oh well, I guess this experience has taught me that you can't plan for everything no matter how hard you try. Disney is so completely on top of everything. They have this happen all the time and will make everything run so smoothly regardless. Picking Disney was the best choice we made during our wedding planning (aside from having Maxine, but that was more luck, not choice)!

Up next, introductions and our first dance...

Once everyone was seated, we gathered the wedding party and parents upstairs for introductions. One thing I didn't think of before... we had escort chocolates made for the wedding party and family, but they were all being introduced. So they never got them. In fact, we ended up taking them home. Some of the family took theirs, but we had a head table, so the wedding party knew where they were sitting. So we could have saved a few $ by not having ones made for the wedding party at least. The chocolate was a yummy snack later (and we froze ours with our cake top) but I think I would have rather saved the $6/7 a piece for the wedding party ones. Just a thought...

So we lined up for the announcements. Another thing I didn't think of was to tell everyone to pause at the split in the stairs for photos -- we didn't even do it!!! Also, I didn't think of how to handle the rail in the middle. Everyone did it differently, and really you can't plan for everything. Looking back on it, it is so minor, it really doesn't matter either.

We opted to have the family introduced first.

2Introductions106.jpg
2Introductions109.jpg
2Introductions110.jpg
2Introductions111.jpg

Then the flower girls.

2Introductions114.jpg

And the wedding party.

2Introductions116.jpg
2Introductions120.jpg
2Introductions123.jpg
2Introductions125.jpg

I also didn't tell everyone what to do after they were announced. The ended up lining up along the head table for our dance, which was ok.

2Introductions130.jpg

We changed our mind and decided to have the wedding party join in half way through our first dance. We hadn't planned on family, but since they were lined up they joined in. Which would not have been a problem, but we didn't think of what to do with the flower girls. But I am getting ahead of myself!

The DJ had everyone stand and then we were announced!
