Our biggest WDW vacation yet (but with the littlest guests)- A May PTR! TR LINK 5/20!

TODAY IS YOUR DAY! I am so pumped for you guys! And possibly living through you!?

Welcome to the better, more enhanced world of packing with cubes! It IS life changing. My family doesn't get it, but I'll scream it to anyone who will listen that it is worth the purchase!

We did a trip to Estes Park in 2021! You will adore it. We drove to Fort Collins to see the downtown that supposedly inspired Walt!
Here are the restaurants I had noted, they may or may not be still open but I knew you would want to see!
  • The View - Dinner
  • Rock Inn Mountain Tavern - call ahead to get on wait list
  • Mountain Home Cafe - breakfast/lunch
  • The Egg of Estes - breakfast
  • Wapiti Pub - Estes Favorite, casual downtown
  • You Need Pie - go early for best selection
  • Bird & Jim - dressier - needs reservations
  • Claire’s - Dinner - can make reservations
  • Smokin Daves BBQ

I have a full itinerary of Rocky Mountain NP if you want to see it when you get back! But Jenny just shared a ton of great info above that will get you started!

Have all the fun and say hi to Mickey for me!

You're going to Disney today!!!

I hope you and your family have an amazing, wonderful trip. We all look forward to hearing about it when you return. :goodvibes

Have an amazing trip! I have enjoyed reading your PTR and hope to see a TR at some point after you get back! Also, Estes Park is a BEAUTIFUL part of CO, I know y'all will enjoy that!

I'm all caught up, and what a fun PTR! I'm SO excited for you all!! Hopefully you're on the ground and on your way to the Disney bubble now.

CO is my very favorite place. Growing up, we always stayed in a little town called Bailey. We were last there a few years ago, and I'm itching to go back. The mountains are calling! My FIL lives in Littleton, so that's where we stay most of the time these days. I've never been to Estes Park, but that's where my cousin and her family always stay, and their pictures are beautiful! Personally, I could spend hours exploring Red Rocks. Someday I want to see a concert there. Driving up Mt. Evans is another favorite family activity. Wherever you go, the wildflowers should be gorgeous in the summer.

Whoo hoo! Can't wait to read the Trip Report!! <3

And Lost... so many feelings- it's been so long- I watched live- but I was not a fan of the ending!

Hope you have the most magical time. Can’t wait for the TR when you get back

Have a great trip!

I've been silently following along, but your PTR has been one of my favorites to read! I hope you and the fam have a super magical vacation!!

Whooo have a great time!!!

Omg you can talk to me about Lost anytime!!! I was obsessed with this show, I’ve rewatched the entire series start to finish at least 3-4 times. I have thoughts. Feel free to PM me. lol (I have a guess as to Jake’s cynical thoughts but don’t want to spoil anything here)

YOU’RE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD TODAY!!!

:jumping1:

Yes, I only have two weeks to go (!!!) and have 10 days of plans to get through! I can’t believe we’re SO CLOSE!

You will LOVE Estes Park! I’ve been there several times including a week last summer.

I’m sure you know, but Rocky Mountain National Park requires vehicle reservations (not just National Park entry fees) in order to access most areas of the park during usual touring hours. You purchase the vehicle entry (it’s inexpensive, just $2.00) though Recreation.gov. I highly recommend purchasing the vehicle pass for Bear Lake Road rather than the regular RMNP pass - you can go anywhere in the park and the BEST hiking trails are on Bear Lake Road. I also recommend going very early in the morning if you can as it’s much more tranquil and parking is easier. You can access the park before the park passes begin, but you’ll have to be past the gate before 5:00am (for Bear Lake Road) and 9:00am (for the park in general) based on last year’s times.

RMNP vehicle reservations for July open on June 1st at 8am MST (double check the time - but the date is right!) and you’ll want to reserve those daily passes ASAP after their release. The passes for Bear Lake Road, especially the ideal early times, can disappear FAST ( I would think especially for a holiday weekend). Think of it like booking Topolino’s or ‘Ohana! They do release additional vehicle passes the evening before each day but it’s much less stressful to book them in advance.

Speaking of restaurants, there are several I highly recommend. Bird and Jim is EXCELLENT and my top choice - we ate there for my birthday last year! I recommend getting a dinner reservation as it can get busy. I also love Bingo Burger in Colorado Springs as long as it would work with your tummy troubles. If you have time in Colorado Springs, the Olympic Training Center is fun to tour!

If you have additional questions once you return from Disney World please let me know!

YES! I started using packing cubes a few years ago and will never go back! They’re awesome!

I’m sure your dad will be right there with all of you. :lovestruc

It’s been delightful to hear about your trip, Molly. I hope you, Jake, and your family have a fabulous time and your sister and brother-in-law have a magical first family trip with their kids. I can’t wait to hear all about it when you return! :goodvibes
