DW managed to wangle and invitation to see the Brilliance of the Seas whilst it docked at Dublin Port last weekend.The passengers were disembarking for their tours to Dublin. Having ondered over what we'd wear today and for our cruise holiday, we were surprised to see the very casual dress of the passengers. We commenced boarding the ship at around 12 and were taken straight to the Minstrel Dining Room (which is massive) for our 3 course lunch with wine - laid on complementary of Royal Caribbean.
After our lunch we began a full tour of the ship (apart from the cabins which we couldn't see because the ship was full). We toured all the bars and restaurants and the areas where you'd just sit and chill - everywhere we went there was food and drink being served - happy days!! I don't think we're likely to go hungry during our cruise.
We saw the fitness areas and the saunas and steam room, the beauty/hairdressing salon along with the pools and solarium. It was all spectacular. We also visited the theatre, cinema and casino and saw the range of shops on boards for anything you might want to buy.
There are some fabulous areas for viewing your port whilst sipping a drink and many areas to lounge and chill out. The ship has great facilities for kids and plenty of entertainment on throughout the day for everyone. The staff were very helpful and everywhere was spacious - most definitely 5 star all the way!!
We heard from our buddies on the Cruise Critic forum that many had been given further discounts fo their cruises. Today we called our agent and guess what? We've been able to get upgraded from a category E3 cabin with balcony (superior cat) to a deluxe D cabin with balcony which is 2 floors higher and with more space AND for £350 less than our original price. Now is that a deal or what ???!!!
