Questions about APH upgrade

Hi I have a few questions maybe one of you can help me with. I am planning a trip to universal aug 1-5. I was looking at booking an APH rate room. I was just going to upgrade one ticket to an annual pass and get the other two tickets as a four day 3 park to park ticket. I see there is blackout on volcano bay until the middle of August. Can I purchase an Annual Pass two park ticket and then just buy a day ticket to Volcano bay on the day we visit there? It would be cheaper than buying the unrestricted annual pass.

Yes, that would work. Just make sure you get the proper pass that has no other block outs during that time.
