Cancelled April 3-9 trip is now moved to Sept 24-30! Our new ADR day is coming and trying to remain hopeful. No dining plan, 2 Adults not picky. Staying at AKV Jambo. We have Ap's, DVC, and Disney visa. Trying to make this fun with researching menus/restaurants when redoing this planning. What would you choose? 6nights WDW no kids but we are kids at heart!

I would do at least one character meal...whichever characters appeal to you most.
Skipper Canteen in MK is one of our favorites.
Hollywood Brown Derby (maybe just do the lounge, but either would be good for us).
La Hacienda at EP
Spice Road Table at EP for fireworks viewing

skipper is a for sure, thinking of ordering bunch of apps for dinner to split!
HBD for lunch while in DHS, then followed by a World showcase QS dinner!
Going to check LaHacienda's menu, whats good there?
Good idea for a "new" Character meal, going to see what Toppolinos offers.

Staying at Jambo House, you're already in walking distance to some of the best restaurants on property - Boma, Sanaa, Jiko. I'd recommend at least one of those! I'm sure you had a lineup of restaurants scheduled for April -probably want to grab a few of those reservations again! It's so tough to recommend restaurants without knowing your tastes and preferences! When we do the trip without kids, we like to alternate nights in some way with a signature restaurant meal followed by a place for appetizers, small plates, and maybe a dessert!

Good luck with your news ressies. I hope we are all back and enjoying time at WDW by then. I really do! We are very hopeful for our November reservations at this time (also at Jambo House!).

Had ressies for Sanaa and a Boma breakfast, I assume will try for those again. Jiko looks yummy but very expensive unless we dont choose another Sig, interested to see what is offered at Victoria Falls that may be nice for a bite! Just dreaming here and trying to think of other things!

Victoria Falls is a nice relaxing place for a bite and a drink. Jiko is excellent, but it is definitely expensive. Dinner at Sanaa and breakfast at Boma is a great place to start the ADRs! And don't forget, Sanaa also now offers breakfast - not the buffet like Boma, but some really nice selections you can grab n go, or grab and eat there. Not bad sitting there with a breakfast plate, watching the animals out the window! Something fun to look forward to!

thanks!! Deciding between Jiko or Cali grill. We havent been to Cali grill since our 97' honeymoon.

If you are already doing Boma and Sanaa, I think I'd enjoy Cali Grill - and maybe some fireworks that night! Then you'll need a future excuse to return to Jiko, if it's a spot you'd like to try! Just a hint, and maybe something to look into. Read up on the Wanyama Safari offered at AKV - it's a combination of appetizers at Jiko, a safari of all the savannas at the AK Lodge, and then a wonderful dinner at Jiko hosted by the chef. It's also expensive, but a very memorable experience. It's a great way to experience Jiko the first time - especially nice without your kids (although there could be other people's kids with you!)!

I sure hope we're seriously able to enjoy these experiences again by September!

EXCELLENT idea!!! This April trip was our first as emptynesters and I hadnt planned on anything fancy just was excited to go, now that its been moved and we are all in this insane state I feel like making it a super memorable one and booking places we normally wouldnt.

Jiko is definitely on the expensive side. But so good!!! In addition to Victoria Falls Jiko has a small bar area that you can order appetizers from Jiko in. Its a great alternative to a full meal but still lets you experience it.

See ya at AKV Jambo. We're also 2 adults, no kids (our kids have kids) and today we made reservations for the Dining Event "Lunch With an Animal Specialist" at Sanaa. A four course lunch, questions and answer session with an animal care keeper at AKV, and limited to 14 or so. For Disney, the price is very reasonable-$54/pp includes the meal (4 courses, tax, and tip), session with the animal keeper, and a $5 donation to WWF. Oh, and one of the courses is the bread service.
