Berkshire Hathaway has now posted on their website regarding their "comprehensive trip cancellation travel policy" points that they don't make expressly clear in their policy:

"Trip Cancellation coverage: Reimbursement for trip cancellation is not covered. Also excluded from trip cancellation benefits are any government regulation or prohibition for travel, and your destination being inaccessible due to this illness. But your travel insurance policy still includes trip cancellation coverage for financial default of a travel provider."

No wonder Warren Buffett is so rich. Remember, this time is where companies like Air France/Delta show their true colors to do the right thing, and others, like Berkshire Hathaway show exactly why we should vote with our wallets/pocketbooks to escort them to the dustbin of disgusting companies that should not survive.

At least your Insurance company has posted something on their website. All I can find from IMG is "What is corona virus" type stuff. Nothing about policies yet.

It’s not just BH insurance. Nearly all insurance companies have now added they will not cover Coronavirus related cancellations

From 2022, terms for Trip Cancellation, for upcoming DCL cruise in Feb 2022:

Medical / Health
(a) Any serious Injury, death, or Sickness;
(1) Occurring to You or a Traveling Companion, a Family Member
traveling with You, that is so disabling as to cause a
reasonable person to cancel or interrupt their Trip or which
results in medically imposed restrictions as certified by a
Physician at the time of Loss preventing your continued
participation in the Trip;

There is no mention of non-coverage for COVID-19 anywhere else in the policy, fyi...

Someone pointed out to me many travel insurance companies if the country is or turns level 4, you are not covered. Not good if a country turns south all of the sudden in the middle of a vacation.

I LOVE DELTA! Maybe I am bias because I come from a Delta employee family. This whole pandemic and even last night they told me, "Oh we will just issue you an e credit, just use it before end of 2023 or probably we will extend it to 2024 on any flight you want, just pay if there is any price difference above your credit. just stick with us as a customer, use it how you want". :)

DCL insurance is awful for the price! They only cover $30K for a medical evac, a lot of medical evacs cost a lot more (I know someone in that business) If anyone is reading this! BEFORE you book a DCL/or any vacation and you have a pre existing condition, get a quote from your TA/DCL/airlines/etc buy trip insurance that covers pre exhibiting conditions and get the dollar amount for all the things needed for the trip, and then book with a deposit and buying airline tickets. People forgot pre existing won't be covered if you have paid anything for your trip or cruise over 14 days ago.

That is good advice to be aware of these things, although there are a few policies that give you 21 days to get the pre-existing condition waiver, and there are even a few that give you up until Paid in Full date, although they can be more expensive. Also, all you have to do is buy the policy within that time period of your first deposit on the trip. You can always add things like airfare or non-refundable hotel rooms and tours as you book them, as long as you report it to the insurance company within whatever timeframe they give you (I always call and ask). Usually it's a couple of weeks. They will just increase the cost of the policy to cover the increased cost of the trip. Even if you know how much the airfare will cost, and include that in your quote, you don't have to buy it right away to have it covered by the pre-existing condition waiver. They just look at the first deposit date.
