Welcome Home Trip for Christmas?

We're planning on purchasing DVC direct (supplementing via resale later) sometime this year (probably summer) and want our first DVC stay to be Christmas-New Years. Does anyone have a feel for if they'd be able to work some magic, or would we likely have to settle for SS or OKW or nothing?

Probably OKW with a chance of Riviera. Also depends on reschedule patterns.

I would add that the sooner you purchase, the sooner you will know the options and the better chance you have for resort choice,

I agree that RIV is one option that would have a high chance since the developer owns the majority of the resort. In order to get the others, they have to still have something and with sold out resorts, that is just not possible
