What would happen if you won the castle on your last day at Disney. This has not happened but it would be my kind of luck. Don't get me wrong, I'd be delaying the flight. I have DD5 (six by next trip) that would absolutely never forget a night in the castle.

I thought about that too! I'm sure of all the people that won, it HAD to have happened to someone! I'm sure Disers and people like us would change their flight in a heartbeat but maybe you're regular WDW guest who doesn't really get it might just pass it up and they pick someone else. :confused3

I would pout all the way home...can't justify the extra $$$ in airfare to stay.

My luck would be to be picked at all........w/ 3 DSs :scared1:

;)

I am sure it happens often, while we were there just this past week, a family we were on the bus with was telling us the family sitting next to them at Breakfast at Crystal Palace won the castle on their last day and they extended their trip for 2 nights because if you win it, you really need 2 days to do everything. Your first day is really taken up by hours of paperwork to stay at the Castle and you have to be in the Dreams Come True Parade at 3pm. Then the disney cast members escort you around the park you were in and get you to the front of the lines since you missed most of your day. That night you have Dinner at Cinderella Royal Table and then breakfast the next morning at Crystal Palace and you get VIP Seating at the Parade and at Wishes.

I would definitely extend my stay! Since year of a million dreams began we have won a lot we're up to 11 fastpasses among other things, but the night in the Castle is really a once in a lifetime dream to win! I would have given up all the other things I won to spend the night in the Castle. But NikkilovesWDW was right, there are so many people that I overhear in the parks that just dont get it and I think would pass up a lot even if it was free! We are 23 and 24 years old and we go three or Four times a year to Disney World and absolutely love it!!!!

Well, if we won on our last night, we couldn't do it as we are cruising the next day. That would suck!

I'm lucky enough to live next door to WDW, but if I didn't I'd hope that I had flew in on SW so I could change and extend a day with no penalty.

I actually have some info on this....We just returned from Disney on Sunday night....We were sitting on a bench in Asia at AK and a Dream Squad member approached us and started a conversation....my thought was to have a big smile...& talk about how much I love to be here...etc...He was telling us how great his job is and talking about all the dreams he has awarded...I actually asked him if anyone had ever won & they were going home that day...he said yes that has happened & the people have changed their flights. But here is something interesting...they have had people turn it down because they thought Disney was trying to sell them a time share...& didn't believe it was all free!!! could you imagine that!!! I then asked do you then give it to someone else? he said no,then it's just not used that night. He was very nice & talked with us for a while...but no dream for us:sad1: But we did get a dream on Sunday before we left at the MK.We were getting off Thunder Mountin and the squad was handing out the Year of a million dream ears at the exit...not the castle, but it was nice to finally win something!

In a heartbeat I would be moving our flights around. Even if we had to pay extra to move the flights....it wouldn't matter it would be a once in a lifetime dream. My daughter and even my husband would never forgive me if we didn't move the flights around.

I was mad when dh finally said ,I think we will drive to Orlando. He is scared to fly,we have both never been on a plane but I wanted to fly. Then I thought well we could stop by the beach,I was happy again.Well I don't think we will do that thanks to IKE .Now if we won a night in the castle I would kiss dh's feet for wanting to drive.:worship:

I would change almost anything to stay in the castle Suite!! We just got the DVC tour of the suite and I added an extra day just to do that. So worth it !!!

!

There is no need to extend past one day. It isn't hours of paperwork - the winner does need to fill some paperwork out - and everyone else in the room signs a release. It doesn't take that long.

Then is the parade (my family opted out), dinner in the castle, parade viewing, etc. - whatever that night entails. We had to be out first thing in the morning, had breakfast at Crystal Palace - and that was it. Less than 24 hours after my parents were stopped, everything was over.

You'd not need more than a one day extension.

On Thursday, we had a fascinating conversation with a dreams team cm. We asked him what was the most exciting prize he gave away to anyone, and he said the castle stay, of course! He had asked us about how long our trip was and when we were leaving. We told him we only had one more day to go. Then he said to us, so what would you do if you won the castle stay on your last day? I very casually said, "well, I think we'd have to make a few calls, but we would make it happen." (at this point my heart started beating faster and faster! But i figured since we were already wearing dream ears there was no way, plus he was talking about a giveaway for the following day anyway....) But we told him we would happily suck up the fees for changing our flights because a stay in the castle would be MORE than worth that cost, for a truly once in a lifetime opportunity! pixiedust:

Alas, we had a fantastic time chatting with the guy but didn't walk away with a reservation at Cindy's for the night. But what an itneresting conversation!

I think anyone who wins a night stay at the castle must be very lucky. It has to be a once in a life time experience.
