*** Yay May! OFFICIAL MAY 2020 THREAD!!! Flowers are starting to bloom! ***

So, has WDW stated when they are re-opening? I like to come to this page for encouragement and planning posts. I am keeping my trip as planned until they email me to cancel it. If I
canceled and they reopened for Memorial Day weekend then I would be so disappointed and kicking myself for not holding out.

United emailed me and said my flight is still booked, but I have the option to change it or cancel and keep the credit for travel until 2021. But, I believe there are travel restrictions to Florida. If the travel restrictions date moves and includes the time when we will be there then I will have to change or cancel our May trip.

We have SEptember and December booked, but this May trip is a pretty big deal.

So, here is my positive note for today... I am so excited to try Artist Point at WL. The food looks great and I love meeting "villains". Face characters are my favorites.

Our first day will be a resort day since we have never stayed at Wilderness Lodge. We have only visited when dining at Whispering Canyon. I hope we get to watch the Water Pageant and we may boat over to Bay Lake to watch the fireworks from Top of the World Lounge.

:flower1:

WL is my absolute favorite resort! I hope you love it as well :goodvibes Right now their "official" stance is closed until further notice with wordage out there that makes it seem like a June 1st opening is their aim but that's not to say they won't reopen sooner. I think that's the best we'll get for the time being so like you I am considering our May trip a go until I can't :thumbsup2

Has anyone with a complete disney package thru Disney with a trip in May...rescheduled and were able to take advantage of the new free dining plan yet?

I had a complete package but it was a BB offer so I chose to keep that rather than the FD promo so I could move it to December rather than 6/1-9/30

My DS has been saving for Galaxy's edge for three years so the first thing we want to do is get a Ronto wrap and walk around Batuu :) My fervent wish is that Memorial weekend will be a" soft " opening with a learning curve for both CM's and park goers re: social distancing, hand hygiene and certain experiences closed like Muppets theater and Philharmagic etc...,with the regular crowds starting June 1st. We will wait and see and do our cleanliness best to flatten the curve:daisy:P.S. I don't remember how to fix my countdown :(

Yes we had a package booked through Disney-I held on to my May reservation and booked a new package online because I was unable to get through on the phone on Sunday and my 180 day for booking dining would have been yesterday. Today I got through with about a 10 minute wait, moved the May reservation to 9/26-10/3 and was able to get the free dining. They cancelled my new reservation that I had made online and will refund my deposit.

I officially changed my trip this morning. I wanted to just add a day to our trip to kind of make up for the fact that my daughter isn’t even going to get a graduation ceremony. I had hoped to keep my May 31st check in and potentially have a low crowd day if they do open by then since no one has been able to rebook for May, but it wouldn’t let the CM do it with the May 31st check in. She said I could book a split stay to add the day, but then she said, do you want me to just check the price if we moved you to June 1st and do the free dining offer for those affected. I really didn’t think it would help me much because I had a room discount, but all total it was only $287 for me to add another day if I checked in a day later. The math still doesn’t work for me, so I don’t know if there was some extra pixie dust in there or something, but I’m greatful! Now I just hope it really does open By June 1st

Even if there's a chance that Disney is back open by May 1st, I think it's probably irresponsible for me to go there that quickly. So I think I will be rescheduling to next May, since I have to trip planned to Disneyland in December!

I officially just cancelled May. With the way things are looking and the restrictions etc. it just doesn't look like it's going to happen. I'm going with mid June and I'm still cautiously optimistic of this trip too 🙃 If it opens in May? Awesome! I can look forward to June. Otherwise I'm out until Sept. Good luck everyone with May trips :goodvibes and stay healthy ❤

We cancelled our perfect may trip....decent crowds, flower and garden, all adr and fast passes we wanted perfectly. We'll be going June 6 thru 13th and still waiting to hear back from Disney flight specialist to get that part switched but everything else is swapped. Got all the adrs back and 7 days till fastpasses fingers crossed. We'll be there for my wife and my anniversary and my son's birthday now. This is all assuming the world gets back to some form of normalcy by then. Oh and we saved $490 on the everything minus the flight which I expect will be cheaper as well.

We ate there in January and it was great. Good food, nice ambiance, and the characters were very nice. Dopey was dopey, Grumpy was grumpy, the witch was icy, etc. We really liked it.

Just began canceling our May trip. We had a split-reservation so canceled one part of that today. I'm hoping to shift the other reservation to new dates, so will wait and call for that.

I'm bummed that the flights for our tentative November dates keep going up. I thought they'd stay stable or at least come down a bit. If I book now, I'm paying higher than the airline credit I'd be using. They were super low a few weeks ago for November. (But at that time, I was still hoping for May ... )

I have not canceled our May 23 reservation. I hope that I do not have to cancel it. Hoping for at least a soft opening Memorial Day weekend. Does anyone know any full time cast members that have had any information about an opening date?

Like many of you, I also cancelled my May trip and rescheduled to late September. It hurt cancelling all the perfect plans we had laid out. I’ve also never been in September before so kinda looking forward to that.

Kinda bummed cause this was supposed to be my college graduation trip but our ceremony is being pushed back so I guess it’s fitting the trip will be too now.

For those of you still planning to go in May, I hope it happens for you, stay safe and healthy everyone!

“See you over on the September board”. 😊😢

I haven’t given up quite yet, but Southwest Airlines cancelled my flight and automatically put me on a much later flight. This sets me back by at least 12 hours and would totally eliminate park time for my arrival day. I might try for an earlier flight, but I don’t know.

I’m still going to wait, but it’s not looking good. If I end up going I might just drive the 14 hours and switch my May flight for my September trip.
