You May Now Kiss the Groom - Our May '18 Honeymoon PTR!

Beautiful invitations! I love the Art Deco look. It sounds like it’s going to be a beautiful wedding. I’m glad to help with some tips. I have learned so many wonderful things from the disboards that have made for some fabulous Vacations.

Thanks! They turned out really well. I'm all for pointers/input. Fire away :)

Congratulations! Dh and I also got engaged on a Riverboat, ours was just the two of us on one of those cheesy dinner and dancing river cruises. It was fun 12 yrs ago. Lol. We will celebrate our 12 yr anniversary at Disney on June 10th, with our 6 yr old and 1 yr old in tow. We always travel the first week in June and besides the weekends the weekdays are fairly low crowds. We love AKL you will love it. Make sure you try Boma for breakfast and a zebra dome dessert sold in the quick service location at Jambo House. Can’t wait to read more about your planning. We also love to get the filet at le Celier in Epcot. Your pictures and travel plans look great. Something else you might consider is having the special chocolate crown or glass slipper delivered to your CRT dinner. You can find info for this on the first page of the cake chatter thread.

Well I did it! I sent an email to the dining email for the Magic Kingdom/CRT for the dark chocolate slipper dessert. It'll be a nice surprise for DFi. He'll appreciate it and he loves dark chocolate! :) Thanks again for the tip!

You will love it! We got one to celebrate our 10th anniversary at CRT. My DH was surprised too. I had the slipper desert and 2 mini cakes delivered at different restaurants on that trip. We were on a sugar rush all week long.

I LOVE your invites!! Ours were the same outside pocket so I am partial to it lol.

I also like the name cutouts. They are really unique and will add a special touch to your wedding!! If they are the same price I would totally go for it!

Hi Andrew and Corey (not sure if Corey is on the Dis?) I'm so excited for you neighbors (Cincy & Indy). I followed your link in my TR.
I loved your engagement story. :love2:

Our guest list is somewhere around 160 and we're doing a Speakeasy theme for the reception with a complete open bar (YAY!).
This sounds so cool.

In fact, we planned the wedding to coincide with both spring and our Gay Days trip.
Now that's some awesome planning.

We're staying at POR in a king room.
Your going to love it there.

Positive thinking was my friend. I had to stay positive and think positive so I did.
::yes::

So fast forward to the party planning! I decided to rent out the third floor suite of a riverboat here in Cincinnati and invited everyone to a surprise birthday party to be held on the riverboat as Corey always expressed desire to have family and friends be a part of his day.
Again awesome planning.

Oh crap! I didn't realize the box was so big. The entire thing protruded from my pants. Honestly, it even looked a little inappropriate if you know what I mean.
:banana::lmao:

What are the MUST-DO restaurants when you go to WDW and why?!
I have a long list. I see that you already love Jiko and are planning Tiffins also. I'd like to add a few Victoria and Alberts would be a great experience on your Honeymoon. Cali Grill during fireworks is great and I'm dying to try their Sunday brunch.

At 2 PM we will meet up with our friends for a meet up at DAWA Bar and Dinner is TBD.
You may want to consider cocktails at Nomads lounge at Tiffins.

8 of us will have lunch together at 50's PTC
SOunds so fun

Highway in the Sky,
How exciting.

We will make our way at 3:00 PM to get in line for Trader Sam's Grotto at the Poly. We want to make sure we get in! Any suggestions for us??? After some light snacks and some adult beverages (can't wait for the tikis!),
We arrived at TG about 4:30-5:00, it was full. We put in our name they gave us a pager saying it would be about 1/2 hr. They were paging us in less then 10 minutes. I would recommend drinks at TG and then head to TAmbu lounge for LApu Lapu's and Pulled Pork Nacho's. These nachos are seriously good. We actually attempted to make them Tuesday night but it only made me miss the real ones more. Food at TG not as good as the nacho's, you'll read about it later in my trip.

Now on to catch up with the rest of your PTR. popcorn::

my Mom has been giving me Disney gift cards for every occasion since we announced our honeymoon would be at WDW. (Some people just don't understand or appreciate the love all things Disney, do they!?)
Thanks mom great idea, and NO some ppl just don't appreciate the love of Disney.

Or do we go with Art Deco font wooden name cutouts in painted gold,
this

That's right we're staying at AKL!!!!
ALRIGHT we've stayed here 2 times and missed when we werer staying at Grand Floridian this past December.

Here are the pics of our invitations:
Love em so classy

(Corey really likes the uniqueness of the cutouts and the fact that they are literally about the same price as the foil escort card).
Well Corey has great taste but of course you know that since he chose you.:rotfl:

Now, how shall I spend the bonus? BWAHAHAHAHAHA......... To Be Continued.
Um can you say Savanna upgrade. You won't regret it. You can read all about our Savanna view from our 2014 trip link in my siggy. Congratulations on the bonus.

I love your wedding app, I'm so outta it I had no idea these were around:confused3 it is 2018 after all.

Now that you mention it, I should have figured out he had great taste when it was clear he was into me! ;)

Thanks for all the kind words and the input. I've been taking so much of what I get here to heart. It's really helped sculpt this trip into more than I even thought it would be! I'm so pumped... like Tom Cruise in Risky Business underwear lip synch pumped. :yay::yay::yay:

I've always wanted to try V&A but the whole borrowed jacket idea has kept me from jumping in head first. There's no way I could pack my jacket in my suitcase with 12 days worth of clothes (I refuse to do laundry on vacation). I have thought about taking less and paying to get the laundry done, but I still shudder at the thought of borrower a jacket. For some reason it gives me the heeby jeebies. Maybe I just need to get over it. I can weird like that.

Cali Grill fireworks is on a future to do list. We'll already be seeing the fireworks twice: Once from the balcony at the Contemporary during the Highway in the Sky experience and once at the Enchanted Honeymoon Experience HEA Dessert Party. We'll have to save that for next year.

I'm really excited to try Tiffins and I keep hearing about these Lapu Lapu things from Tambu Lounge. It's a must do on our trip with all the chatter I keep reading about them.

As far as Trader Sam's it's good to know even if we're cutting it close to 4 the wait won't be too crazy. I haven't read a lot about how long folks had to wait, so it's good to know it doesn't seem to be that long. This is one of the new experiences I'm excited about the most - well this and Highway in the Sky!

Lastly, thanks for coming along on our journey. This is my first PTR and I wouldn't have been inspired to tackle it had it not been for you @thumper* and a couple other DISers: @CaseFace5 & @chunkymonkey. All your reports are so good! Thanks!

So, today I don't have too much of an update. BUT even so, today is really exciting for us!

Before I get into that, first I'm happy to say we finished assembling all of our invitations last night with the help of my great friend and Groomsmaid, Elysia. We were a little shocked to realize we had to spend over $90.00 in stamps, but it's a great feeling to have the assembly out of the way. Now, we just have to have each one hand addressed, which Corey's Mom has graciously volunteered to tackle for us. (She has excellent penmanship.)

So, now that that is out of the way, I'm so excited to say that we are officially at our....................

DOUBLE DIGIT COUNTDOWN! Just 99 days to go until #COREYANDR2018!

Congrats on putting all the invites together, I remember that feeling! Also, postage is the WORST! So I feel you on that!

Congratulations! I Love your proposal! You are both absolutely adorable and I cant wait to read more about your journey.

Hello!

I just want to say that I have enjoyed reading all about your love story and the amazing proposal! I just absolutely love your them and invitations! I teach 8th grade History and actually just taught a lesson on Art Deco and had my students all create their own samples of an Art Deco design. The invitations are beautiful! I love how the cutouts turned out! So, if they are basically the same price, I would go for them. But the other namecards look great too. You can't go wrong either way!

FANTASTIC NEWS about your bonus being a lot more than you expected! What a wonderful surprise. Just think of the extra money as paying for all your added extras like the Enchanted Honeymoon and Highway in the Sky experiences. Those are now paid for which is nice to think about.

I can't wait to read more and follow along on your adventure!

:welcome: Thanks for jumping in on this adventure! We do appreciate that we prepaid for the Enchanted Honeymoon, Highway in the Sky and CRT and won't have to worry about those later. We're still mulling over the placecards, but I do believe we're leaning towards the cutouts. Welcome aboard!

Hi Andrew! Thanks for taking the time to read my TRs! I am all caught up on your PTR now. First, off Congratulations!! You both make such a cute couple. I love your proposal story. It's so sweet how you arranged all these special things for Corey. Your wedding sounds amazing. I really love the Art Deco theme you have going on, the colors are so pretty and unique as well. Love the invites! My sister Chunkysis works in an invitation company so we're used to seeing some pretty fancy invites but yours are really unique. Love all the honeymoon plans so far. I second the rec for going to Tiffins for a nice dinner or lunch when in AKL. Also if you're there on a sunday you can try brunch at California Grill.
Looking forward to more of your plans!
