Jennifer. Cute bday photos:thumbsup2 But what were those little tears:guilty: for at the end?

I can't remember! I think she was crying bcause she wanted to sit on the edge of the seat and Lena ( the birthday girl) wouldn't let her.

She crys at everything! So sensitive!!!

Scott, Always up for a good Party!!

Yes I am, good people and good times to be had by all.

Thanks for sharing the pictures.

Beautiful day here, didn’t get to help put the roof on the pole barn, the metal roofing that was delivered was about 1.5 feet too short. Bummer

Worked on the yard, took the pups for a geocache trip, shopped for light weight wind pants, fro some reason I think they might be handy on this trip.

We are pretty much packed and ready to go.

All you lucky folks heading to FL soon please do have a safe journey.

Jumping ship in Gibraltar sounds interesting, I better stay on board with Lynn, wonder if DCL would let ya do this???

Friends we know (Joe and Leslie) wanted to join this cruise at CC, as their daughter is getting married 5/12, DCL wouldn’t let that happen. Made sense to me to try and do this.

Caught the last hour of "Hoot" earlier tonight, I liked it, put me in a Floridays kinda frame of mind. I relate to the song Good Guys Win, heck I realate to a lot of songs,

Scott--Had you seen Hoot before? The entire movie is cute. Good family film, nice message, good sountrack. . .;)

Jennifer--I have a sensitive daughter as well so I know where you are comming from! (assuming that is Sophia)

Someone asked to see a photo (Pat?). So here it is! This is the stripped down version after waves and Mickey icons were removed so the kids would have pieces to build a shuffle board game with:rotfl: Nah, we don't have cruise on the brain:rotfl2:

Look at the future Disney ship builder! Will he make sure friends of the family (as in those of us on disboards..) get great rooms?:wizard:
also...You got to love a man with a pink mickey hat on! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Anyway on Saturday we fly to disney for a week at Riverside before the cruise and im so excited its unbelievable. Lindsay:cool1:

We will be at Riverside late 5/9 - 5/12! Maybe we could meet by the pool. :)

(including one "must eat at" tapas place and excatly what to order for the 6 of us:rotfl: )

Thanks for sharing the place I emailed it to DH for his consideration. We both love tapas, but he's the picky one.

Ken, your efforts are greatly appreciated by all, and I will be glad to buy you a drink or 2 as a thank you for all your hard work!! Pat

Excellent idea! :cool1:

Welcome the the new people coming aboard! I can't wait to meet you!

Have a great night everyone,

Lori

Yes I think he does. Also, be sure you get tickets for (free, just have to get them) tea with Wendy Darling!

Oh I did not know about that! I am thinking I should go buy a book or something to get more info on Disney cruises. Any suggestions for a good book???

Both my daughters are HUGE Wendy fans!!!

Does anyone know if there are still tickets available for Tea with Wendy? I can't do anything till tomorrow when Disney finalizes our flight plans and we pay for our trip.

Hi Brooklyn - Tea with Wendy reservations need to be made when you are on the ship. It is usually given twice during the week long so I don't know how many times they will do it for the two weeks. By the way everyone, going to Walmart in Scottsdale to see if they have the washing tablets you were talking about and if they do I will pick up a bunch. I will let you know tomorrow night. Hope everyone had a great week and for those of you taking off for WDW, we are green with envy:hug: but wish you a safe journey, tons of fun and giggles!

Oh good, I feel better now. My DD would have been crushed if she missed it. I will make it a priority to sign up when we are on ship. Do you know the ages that they usually take for that?

Thank you for the kind offer. Totally not necessary. I just hope everyone likes the lanyards and name badges. And thanks to everyone on the Lanyard Team for providing these free of charge to almost 300 disboarders!

I thought you had to be 5, but I could be wrong. My daughter is 9 so it has been a while. It is great though and on our last cruise it did not "sell out".

Thank you for the information! How could "Tea with Wendy" not sell out??? Wendy is an idol in this house, he he.

Any other neat things that anyone knows of that is a must do that I will need to sign up for???

Was anyone watching The Amazing Race tonight and notice the mouse ears on the road sign in Hong Kong? Very cool.

I would be forever in your debt if you could find those rare babies! They are SO convenient. Take whatever they have left and I will reimburse ya! :rotfl2::thumbsup2 I had heard on some website while I was looking for them about a month ago that they are in the process of reformulating them. Maybe that is why they are hard to find?

And thanks again to all the lanyard team (and Ken of course) for providing the awesome lanyards and name tags!!!

Not yet... but I will keep an eye out when I watch it on TIVO!

Believe it or not, there is so much to do on the ship, you will realize how some stuff just doesn't get busy. We went to something last May and I thought I would have to get in early to see anything and it was me and 4 other people. The next night my husband and I showed up 5 minutes late for the adult comedy show and we couldn't get a seat and there was no standing room where you could see him. It is all a gamble. For the character breakfast, your waiter will give your family a ticket with the date and time so you will know when to go. I don't think there is anything else you have to sign up for ahead of time. We went on the cruise last Mother's Day and it was the BEST gift ever. I spent the morning with Abby playing Bingo, had lunch with the family, read my fave book in the adult pool area with no kids around, went to dinner at night and played games with my family at night. I never had so much fun and have been so relaxed. If I think of anything, I will let you know. And yes, I will pick up enough tablets, I really hope our Walmart has them. I will definitely let you know.

The banner looks fabulous! And what a great get together!!! It makes it all just a little more real, which is a fun thing to think about!

MANY pages to read as I have been away for two days: trying to get stuff done, and one of my students (law school) had a personal crisis, so was trying to help him, which while an entirely necessary thing to do, impeded my ability to keep up!

:welcome: Brooklyn and family, and another thanks for your husband's service.

Laura, I too was worried that you were off drowning your sorrows in the beverage of your choice! Sounds like it certainly could have been worse. And yes, you don't need two names, you are famous! (infamous?!). :)

And speaking of laundry, has anyone ever seen portable (i.e., tablets) that are sensitivity-type detergent? The best I found was a relatively petite box, all things considered, of Ivory baby detergent. I hope that's OK for my dh, he is allergic to anything that's not a "free" type product. I wonder if I should try do a patch test, but I don't want to open the box as it is nice and leakproof now. He says he has used Ivory soap before w/o issue, so I assume it is ok, but it wouldn't be good to have a bad allergic reaction during the cruise. We have a Miele frontloading washer, so use HE detergent (Persil free), which is not suitable to bring with for a regular machine. Does anyone else have this problem?

And I am not quite sure what to call a group of Cynthias (Brooklyn, despite the fact that this is not a common name, there's a whole bunch of us on this cruise) except not very quiet! ;)

Summer weather here in Chicago all of the sudden, and right now, thunder and lightening. I think it's telling me I am up way too late...

 C.

A great book that many of us have is called PassPorter for Disney Cruise Line. You can get it at Borders and Barnes and Noble. Even if you can't find the 2007 edition, the 2006 edition will be just fine. It is an easy and fun read, and you will have a huge head start over anyone else who is new to the ship and A) hasn't read the book, and B) hasn't been to the Disboards to have all your questions answered! :thumbsup2 We've been on 2 DCL cruises before, and thought we knew so much, but have learned so much more and "met" lots of great people through these boards. Welcome!

Lots of new pages that I just caught up on and can't remember WHAT to respond to first at this hour. Have to get up early and start our weekend here. Only 6 more days off and still lots to do! Happy Monday folks.
