Cr Gv

Thanks so much for the inside info.
It does sound more and more like the new building will be DVC.
I would love to stay in one of the upper rooms with a MK view.

The moving sidwalk sounds nice but since I need to use to use an EVC I am really hoping for a lite rail system like they use in a lot airports. They could set it up with gates or doors at the far end that open with your KTTK card so guests not staying on property cannot access the connecting lite rail/sidewalk.

Please keep us informed of any inside info you come across.

Have a Disney Day!:wizard:

GV in the CR, especially if on the top floor will have be 1250 or more points a week in prime season and likely not less than 750 anytime.

Holy cow! It'd be cook, but likely too expensive for average point owner.

You may be correct, but with only 2 GV available with the penthouse type of view of the MK it would be highly desirable. I bet there will be plenty of people willing to pay big time for those GV rooms ---myself included.

well right now they are getting 74 to 130 points (sun-thur) for BW so I can definitely see CR 125 to 200 points per night Sun-thurs.

In my mind the MK will be more popular than Epcot. Especially since right now I love 'Wishes' and I haven't liked 'Illiuinations' since they put everything on that tiny ball which is just about impossible to see.

besides more of Wishes can be seem outside the parks.

but having all the rooms have the music - oh that would be wonderful. of course for parents with little children, if they could turn it off so the kids could sleep that might be better.

oh I want this place!~:yay: :dance3:

I would not hold my breath for a light rail system to connect two buildings that are a couple hundred feet apart. I also dont think there will be any restrictions about guests checking out the DVC building as there are not currently in place at any of the WDW DVC resorts

I agree with you that there should no restrictions on regular Contemporary guests and other guests at the Contemporary visiting the DVC building at the Contemporary. Just like asianway said WDW encourages all their guests to visit all the Resorts on property, so why should this building be only for DVC members and no one else?

yes but if it suites instead of DVC. they could definitely close it off to non-guests.

Disney would still like a 5 star hotel.

the GF was too accessible to non-guest. So the AKL which rooms were too small, and it was too dark.

if this is to be suites instead of DVC - this could definitely stop outsiders.

but I want it to be a DVC resort!:rotfl: :wizard:

I was not holding my breath for a light rail.
I was just thinking out loud. WC/ EVC's and strollers are not allowed on moving sidewalks.
When I visit Vegas every time there is a moving sidewalk
entrance into a casino I cannot enter the casino through the (front door) moving sidwalk ( Bally's , Mirage, and Ceasers Palace for example) . I have to follow the signs and ride my scooter all the way around the building to another entrance to gain access the building via a handicapped entrance. DH also comes with me in case I need assistance we often go at least 500-1,000 feet out of way for the HA entrance.
That is why I was thinking of a light rail or at the very least a
Moving sidewalk that also has a regular walkway in the center or to the sides of the moving walkway part.

I was thinking if they did put a light rail in to accommodate handicapped guests than Disney may limit access so the connecting entrance does not become another ride for non guests.

I was not thinking exclusive access.

Non guests could still enter the building via the front door.

If they build a moving sidewalk between the buildings with no Handicapped access than I guess all WC/EVC users and guests with strollers would not be able to use the connecting sidewalk. :sad2:

For the grand villas...yes, it probably will be a lot of points.

But regular rooms may not be as expensive as some are predicting. Remember everyone was thinking the worst about AKV being high in points....it turned out to be pretty cheap.

If there were, it would be hard to keep it just to the DVC guests. So no, it wouldn't disappoint me.

But it would be helpful to pump the Wishes soundtrack into the rooms during the fireworks! :thumbsup2

Not necessarly Granny, they could tie access to a room key.

Offer a special "resort channel" on the TV, or a "short range" FM transmitter in the building so the radios can pick up the signal. That way you can control if it's on, off, and the volume.

If they could secure rooftop for DVC guests only, that would work for me.

Of course, then we'd all be petitioning for "Roof Hopping" privileges if staying at any DVC resort on points!! :lmao:

okay the frog person says this is going to happen and the announcement will be in Sept or Oct.

Could you direct me (possibly via PM) to where the "Frog" is posting?

Thanks!

date change now Jan, 2008.;) from:jumping2: :jumping1:

Not to be difficult, but I'm not sure there will be anything left to announce by then! The building superstructure will be highly visible, and everybody and their cousin will "know" what it being built. Even if they're wrong about it.

I hope they put a telescope on each balcony so we can monitor FP times for Space/Splash and Thunder-like they have at Tides South Beach. :thumbsup2

Editorial Review for Tides South Beach – by Citysearch Editors

The Scene
Built in 1936, this grand Art-Deco hotel has been restored to its original glory, and the 121 rooms have been converted into 45 luxurious guest rooms and suites. The real surprise, however, is the hotel's genuinely friendly staff, a feature lacking in most luxury hotels.

The Details
All the spacious units boast an ocean view and a telescope for celebrity stargazing.

I thought Tony had posted in one of my CRV photo threads, but I'm not seeing it? October would make perfect sense, that tends to be when Disney makes announcements. However, it still is far away - so it's still odd to be working so diligently on something for another 5 months without mentioning it. :)

Non guests could still enter the building via the front door.
If there is going to be a walkway between the 4th floor of the Tower building to the DVC building, I still don't see why it can't be used for all others wanting to visit it? If you want to limit access on it then at least let guests staying at the Contemporary in the Tower and South Garden Wing access it that way, to make it fair. If I wanted to see it why should I go the long way of entering threw the front door on the outside, when there is this walkway from the 4th floor?
