Congrats Andrew!!!
We are laughing about this, but when my daughter went to India everyone was staring at her in a restaurant because she is left handed. Her Indian girlfriend and her family started to giggle at my daughter because they knew why everyone was staring. They told her to eat with her right hand to stop the staring. You can just imagine what they were thinking!!!!!

It's not the bank or American Express that charges the cash advance fee - it's your credit card company. In most cases buying foreign currency using a credit card is considered the same thing as a cash advance - so whatever terms apply to your card will apply. When I bought from BofA, I just had them pull the money from my checking account.
With American Express, if you have a gold or platinum card they'll waive the $15/order fee. Also, they can debit a checking account if you order by phone (as compared to on the web).
You'd think they'd make this easier....
But at least it's not Mark & Spencer....
Did we decide when we will get the lanyards? Sometimes I have a lot of pages to ketchup and miss something!Only problem with American Express is that they send the currency to my billing address which happens to be a PO Box which UPS doesn't deliver which is the way they send currency. So I would have to see if there is a way to work around. In the mean time, I decided to open a BofA checking account and will drop some money in it and then purchase some currency by drawing from that account instead. I think that will solve my problem. Plus I get an ATM card which might come in handy.

If you are a member of AAA you can get your money exchange thru them for no fee. I checked their web site while you guys were napping and I am going to call our local office tomorrow. I will let you know what I find out.
Eeyorelvr10's family!
One nice thing about BofA - they are everywhere.
Yeah, I took a look at them. No fees, but the exchange rate was pretty bad (at least when I checked online). Don't know what they offer at the local office. I guess it depends on how much you're going to exchange.
