A trip to WDW w/NO kids? Hubba Hubba! Wink Wink! UPDATE: EXTRA, EXTRA!!! Pg 158

Hello my friendly friendsters...

Here's an update on the past couple of days:

Wednesday night, I didn't get to work out :sad2: because Mike decided to work on the roof a little bit and needed my help (and make sure he didn't fall off and break his leg). So for dinner, we made a quick meal---turkey and cheese sandwiches on whole wheat bread, and I had a handful of sunchips (not the greatest, but still better for me than doritos--which are my fav. chip)

I'm gonna go on a tangent here before I talk about yesterday's eating habits, because this story goes along with what I had for breakfast.

So...Yesterday, I was supposed to go to a CPR/AED class at work, and the Red Cross Rep. never did show up, so they had to postpone it. They couldn't even get in touch with the rep. One of my coworkers was quite upset that she'd have to wait until the 23rd to have a heart attack. LOL :rotfl:
But the funniest comment came from my boss's secretary. She was SO mad on having to come to Hammond (she usually stays in N.O.) and the guy not showing up, when I emailed her to ask where he was, she replied "The Red Cross coordinator could not reach him. I’m sure he’s OK --As far as I’m concerned, he better have a good excuse, one that involves losing major quantities of blood" :rotfl2:

So this brings me to breakfast yesterday. When we were waiting in the conference room for the RC man to show up (not the cola, the Red Cross:rolleyes:) and they had some breakfast muffins for us. I knew I would be in there for the next 4 hours (supposed to be from 8-12) so I decided to have one, and picked the best of 3 options--banana nut. There was also blueberry and orange or something. It was very good, and I actually don’t feel as bad when I eat something like that in the morning as I would eating it in the afternoon, because my body has all day to burn it off.

I resisted the temptation of the cokes sitting there (they also had diet coke, which I can't stand). I grabbed a bottled water. After finding out the class would have to be cancelled, I went back to my desk, and had some grapes an hour before lunch.

At lunch I had a South beach diet meal—a walnut raspberry chicken salad. It came in a box with some sugar-free jello and pita chips. The pita chips were disgusting, and the jello wasn’t so great. I ate 2 of the chips and 1 bite of the jello before giving up on those. In the afternoon, I had a 100 calorie pack of cheese nips (yeah, not low-carb, but I didn’t really have any carbs for lunch considering those chips were so gross). So, just so everyone knows, don’t buy that salad kit--it’s not worth it.

And for dinner we went to Chili’s (terrible service by the way) and I had a Caesar salad with grilled shrimp. There were all of 6 shrimp on it, and because of the terribly long wait I didn’t feel that hungry anymore, and only ate less than ½ of it.

For breakfast today, I had a banana—actually I had 2/3 of a banana cause I ate breakfast so late it was almost lunchtime. (busy morning) I had lunch with my Dad and Mike, and we went to Quiznos. I had a small mesquite chicken on wheat, and the bad part comes in where I ate some bbq chips---they were tasty! BUT I resisted temptation yet again---that Dr. Pepper was staring me in the face and I stared back like a dog looking at a juicy steak on his owner’s plate. I won though….got some unsweetened tea and put a couple of sweet-n-lows in it. I really feel good about my decision. I’m normally not a “tea” person, but on this diet I may be becoming one!

I think I will have some pineapple chunks in a bit here.

Well, this is starting to sound more like a weight-watchers diary than a pre-trip report, so I think I’ll stop with the elaborations from now on. I will, however, continue to post my meals so that I can see what I’ve eaten---plus it motivates me because when I am tempted I think “when I eat this, I’m going to have to post it on the board and I will be embarrassed that I’ve cheated” Seriously…am I weird for thinking that way? I don’t care if I am. :p

No plane tix yet, either. I have a feeling I’ll be posting this sentence every day for the next 2 weeks. Mike is stickin’ to his guns!

Only 36 days til Disney! :hourglass

NEXT: Quick UPDATE: Maps are here! woohoo!

I am glad you posted what you are eating. I have gained a little bit of weight this summer, even exercising 5 days a week is just slowing down the weight gain (not two hours thought, just a quick workout during lunch). I have been eating so badly, so reading what you are doing and being ever so slightly competitive, it makes me want to eat better. I will be in WDW just a little couple of days before you, so here is to looking good for The Mouse!!!!

Good for you! I really need to motivate myself more...and it helps hearing from others like you! And competitive is not a bad thing! :thumbsup2

I'll drink to that! (light beer, of course. :rotfl: )

Again, WTG on sticking to your diet. Cept for the BBQ chips...but you should allow yourself a little cheat here and there so you don't completely bomb and give up. You're human so it's only natural to be tempted.

That bananna nut muffin sounds yummy. I might have to find a recipe and make some:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 I love to bake. Maybe thats my downfall :rotfl: nahhhh, it's the little debbie brownies...that's my real downfall.

Anyways, keep up the good work. You'll look great while in WDW i'm sure.

Hey Cherbear...For some reason...I am not getting E-mailed about your thread ....So I am Way Behind!!!!!...

Maybe for the next one....if we can find a black and white fish! :goodvibes

well it's the first time it has happened to me....so I had to delete, delete, delete

Ok...SO I haven't been around, but I'll give a small update now.
I got my ME luggage tags...now I just have to book the flight so we can give them our flight information. It says "No flight information" on the page that is supposed to have the info.

For dinner Fri I finished my salad from Chili's, and I think I ate some fruit. Yesterday I ate Honey Bunches of Oats for breakfast, and the rest of the day I had 2 oranges, some grapes, and a pickle at dinnertime. And I wasn't hungry after that. Went to meet some friends at a Mexican restaurant, and watched everyone drink their sugary margaritas while I drank a glass and 1/2 of water. We then went to a local bar where I had a Michelob Ultra light. SIDE STORY---We left there because they accused my cousin of breaking the lock on the pool table....only half the balls came out, and there was already DUCT TAPE holding it on but when she tried to make the balls come out, the duct tape popped off and they accused HER of breaking it. Then tried to get her to pay for it. There were arguments, obviously, then we left. They got her name but no credit card info or anything like that. It was just ridiculous.

BUT the excitement is building....as I draw nearer to my vacation. 34 days!!! I'm going to try to think about things that I can talk about in the upcoming weeks to keep all of you entertained! I'm at my parents' house today, and Dad is BBQing some sirloins and some ribs....mmmmm I just love Dad's bbq! While I'm here I'll see if they can rustle up a story from one of our past trips. Mom has a pretty good memory and I think she can help. I know how much everyone loved the grandma and grandpa stories! :goodvibes

Darn for you...no sugary margaritas! :sad2: I'll drink my next one and think of you! :teeth:

you sound like me  I hadn't been around much over the weekend either. I'm scared to even look at Disneydad's thread...I know I will never be able to catch up there.

Anyways, that's retarted that that bar tried to blame the broken lock on the pool table on your cousin. Dirty theves!! I'd never go back there if I were you. Ugh! Places like that just tick me off :headache:

The excitement is building for me and DH as well for our trip. ONE MONTH from today for us!! :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: I can't stand waiting anymore.

Anyways, hope you had a great weekend. I've got some movie trivia goin' on over on my thread if you care to venture a guess or two :thumbsup2

I don't want you to think I'm not reading. I wrote down where your last update was and I'll be back to read. I am so far behind with so many TR/PTRs.....sorry!!!!

Yeah...same here (about DD's thread)

Yes, it really ticked everyone off and I won't be going back there. My cousin is not this big strong woman...in fact she is tiny so I don't know how they can look at her and think "she broke the lock" STUPID, STUPID people.

I can't stand waiting either! I went there before I came to my own thread....did you choose Waiting because you are tired of Waiting? LOL

LOL it's ok. apparently you and I are not the only ones. I'm just glad I'm not alone in this. :)

I really hate Mondays. I'm SO SO tired. I wish I could bottle up the energy I seem to develop like magic when I'm at WDW. I would have enough left over to use for one year....that's 52 Mondays! :rotfl2:

I'm glad I'm not alone about being affraid of DD's thread  But I AM caught up now!! :woohoo:

:lmao: I actually didn't choose "waiting" because I'm tired of waiting but I guess that makes sense. Maybe psychologically I made that connection. Who knows!? My brain is fried from the weekend.

Keep posting what you are eating! You are doing so well, you are inspiring me to feel guilty about what I am eating that I shouldn't be! :lmao:

Anytime you eat any of these you are helping us out as we have stock in Pepsico (the mother company of Lay's products). Thank you.

(they also had diet coke, which I can't stand).
What? That's my most favorite drink, besides a pina colada!

I'm caught up, too. 19 pages later!

:rotfl: maybe I'll make you feel better when I say I cheated a small bit--I had a pack of 6 Lance peanutbutter crackers today. (I love them, and I will also be bringing some to Disney) I guess it could be worse. :confused3

Anytime you eat any of these you are helping us out as we have stock in Pepsico (the mother company of Lay's products). Thank you.

well, that's good. So you drink Diet Coke but have stock in Pepsico? LOL:rotfl2:

I actually don't like pepsi either...but I love Coke, and can't have it on my diet. Although, we bought some Coke Zero and I have grown fond of it. It actually tastes pretty close to the real thing. Even so, I'm still trying not to have much sodas at all. Just that when I do it has to be diet. I split one with Mike yesterday, and other than that I've had water. And I almost forgot, a sugarfree lemonade at my parents' house yesterday.

Since we're on the food topic, for those of you who said you liked when I posted my meals...
Last night I wasn't hungry after eating that sirloin for lunch yesterday. I had a pickle for dinner, and half of a Coke Zero like I said above.

Today, besides the crackers:rolleyes:, I had tuna creations--sweet and spicy flavor. I added NOTHING to it. With the flavor in it I can eat it by itself. I ate it with some whole grain wheat thins. I had about a serving of those.

Then for an afternoon snack I had some sliced pineapples, and I just now had a small kosher dill pickle to hold me off cuz I am afraid of going home and raiding the pantry.

By the way, I have a friend staying over tonight so I may not be around. She's taking a quick summer course (and we live by the university) and she lives in Slidell so we offered to let her stay tonight after our other friend (who invited her to stay there while she was in classes) kicked her out. Yeah, he really kicked her out. Let me point out this other friend is also OUR friend, and he is dating MY cousin now---and SHE is spending the night over there...so they said they'd be "TOO LOUD" if you get my drift. And basically told her to stay at our house (not knowing if we'd even accomodate yet). So of course we told her to stay over. That was just too rude. I teased at her that it would be "TOO QUIET" at our house.
I am not happy with my friend and cousin right now. I mean, c'mon that's just not something to do or say to a friend. They must be very immature.
