Hello my friendly friendsters...
Here's an update on the past couple of days:
Wednesday night, I didn't get to work out
because Mike decided to work on the roof a little bit and needed my help (and make sure he didn't fall off and break his leg). So for dinner, we made a quick meal---turkey and cheese sandwiches on whole wheat bread, and I had a handful of sunchips (not the greatest, but still better for me than doritos--which are my fav. chip)
I'm gonna go on a tangent here before I talk about yesterday's eating habits, because this story goes along with what I had for breakfast.
So...Yesterday, I was supposed to go to a CPR/AED class at work, and the Red Cross Rep. never did show up, so they had to postpone it. They couldn't even get in touch with the rep. One of my coworkers was quite upset that she'd have to wait until the 23rd to have a heart attack. LOL
But the funniest comment came from my boss's secretary. She was SO mad on having to come to Hammond (she usually stays in N.O.) and the guy not showing up, when I emailed her to ask where he was, she replied "The Red Cross coordinator could not reach him. Im sure hes OK --As far as Im concerned, he better have a good excuse, one that involves losing major quantities of blood"
So this brings me to breakfast yesterday. When we were waiting in the conference room for the RC man to show up (not the cola, the Red Cross
) and they had some breakfast muffins for us. I knew I would be in there for the next 4 hours (supposed to be from 8-12) so I decided to have one, and picked the best of 3 options--banana nut. There was also blueberry and orange or something. It was very good, and I actually dont feel as bad when I eat something like that in the morning as I would eating it in the afternoon, because my body has all day to burn it off.
I resisted the temptation of the cokes sitting there (they also had diet coke, which I can't stand). I grabbed a bottled water. After finding out the class would have to be cancelled, I went back to my desk, and had some grapes an hour before lunch.
At lunch I had a South beach diet meala walnut raspberry chicken salad. It came in a box with some sugar-free jello and pita chips. The pita chips were disgusting, and the jello wasnt so great. I ate 2 of the chips and 1 bite of the jello before giving up on those. In the afternoon, I had a 100 calorie pack of cheese nips (yeah, not low-carb, but I didnt really have any carbs for lunch considering those chips were so gross). So, just so everyone knows, dont buy that salad kit--its not worth it.
And for dinner we went to Chilis (terrible service by the way) and I had a Caesar salad with grilled shrimp. There were all of 6 shrimp on it, and because of the terribly long wait I didnt feel that hungry anymore, and only ate less than ½ of it.
For breakfast today, I had a bananaactually I had 2/3 of a banana cause I ate breakfast so late it was almost lunchtime. (busy morning) I had lunch with my Dad and Mike, and we went to Quiznos. I had a small mesquite chicken on wheat, and the bad part comes in where I ate some bbq chips---they were tasty! BUT I resisted temptation yet again---that Dr. Pepper was staring me in the face and I stared back like a dog looking at a juicy steak on his owners plate. I won though
.got some unsweetened tea and put a couple of sweet-n-lows in it. I really feel good about my decision. Im normally not a tea person, but on this diet I may be becoming one!
I think I will have some pineapple chunks in a bit here.
Well, this is starting to sound more like a weight-watchers diary than a pre-trip report, so I think Ill stop with the elaborations from now on. I will, however, continue to post my meals so that I can see what Ive eaten---plus it motivates me because when I am tempted I think when I eat this, Im going to have to post it on the board and I will be embarrassed that Ive cheated Seriously
am I weird for thinking that way? I dont care if I am.
No plane tix yet, either. I have a feeling Ill be posting this sentence every day for the next 2 weeks. Mike is stickin to his guns!
Only 36 days til Disney!
