Ah thanks! Nice of you to look. :) Our AAA rate is $910 for the seven nights, so probably about the same. One benefit of the AAA rate is that we only pay a one night deposit and the rest on check in.

I love to research these things; I wish I could be a travel agent. :)

The AAA rate sounds good, particularly with not having to pay it all upfront. I chickened out and booked our pre-cruise stay on the WDW UK site because it was a fairly good deal, but the cancellation fee is so hefty it's effectively on a no-cancellation basis. I prefer it when I can book but keep looking and cancel if a better deal comes up (which I've recently done for our hotel in Denver at Christmas, saving $30 a night - so far).

Still, we do know we've got exactly what, where and when we wanted, and it was cheaper than the WDW US rate.

That is why we were all surprised when some folk were allocated their cabins at the weekend as we wer expecting it to be done last minute. Mind you I can't see why it has to be last minute - they must have lots to do then when whey could do it earlier.

 No idea whether this is really the case, but I've always thought that as they booked people into each category they allocated all the stateroom numbers until that category was full. Then they book GTY. As people cancel, if they had a stateroom number, this is then allocated to someone previously on GTY.

So when recently some people's GTY changed to a number, I just thought that DCL were reallocating stateroom numbers which had become available from cancellations.

Jackie made it safe to Breckenridge - spoke to her briefly. It's lovely and cool she said and described the room!

I'm soooooo jealous. I love Breckenridge. Our 'lottery dream' is to buy a house overlooking South Park and be able to live there. :cloud9:

Meantime, here I am, about 4600 miles away and on the wrong side of the Atlantic! :sad1:

I just got the letter yesterday. It didn't look like they were trying to take glory for their descision it seemed like a by the way... type letter. I got the letter and thought "oh...ok"

I know it shouldn't really matter because in the end we did 'win', but I only recently saw what it says on Mousesavers:

The Panama Canal Authority announced in July 2007 that there will be a new fee of $100 per passenger for Panama Canal transits. As of 8/7/07, Disney has decided to pay the fee on the guests' behalf for both of the 2008 sailings.

That irritates me because it gives no indication of the fight we had with DCL on this issue, and the reasons behind it.

now now Karen, we need to keep ourselves open minded to the multitude of DOD....wine, beer, RUM......Where's the RUM!!!!

and ya, no raiders here, only 49ers....

ok funny story. a few weekends ago, SJ grand prix weekend, we went to the mini gourmet (the 24 hours eatery) down the street and around the corner (or around the corner and down the street) and our waitress (who we've been friendly with for years) tells us that Joe Montana stopped in just about an hour before, on his way to the races. Molly say "who?" Paul and I in disgust realize that we have been lacking in our parental roles in that neither of our children know who Joe Montana is. Not to worry we talked about him the rest of the weekend...the kids know him now.

back to the regulary scheduled talk of nothing important...(oh sorry that was what I was doing huh?) is making fun of yourself like talking to yourself?? I don't think so, but perhaps it is??????:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Lisa: I need a day count shout out!!!!! Can ya give us one please? (do the Lisa's here have #'s) I'm of course talking to Disneylover this time...you knew that right?:confused3

When Samantha was in grammar school, she went to school with Alexandra Montana. Joe Montana always attended school functions and was very gracious. Samantha went to their house a few times in Atherton. However, she was much closer friends with Sam's other friend Raquel Rosendin.

Lisa, we are going to have to adjust some of the spead sheets for brunch etc. for those who are will not be joining us on the crusie.

Marilyn - did you make that picture in your signature into a magent for your cabin door?

Oh, my,no!! I am so untechy and Mandy(UKAngel) was going to do some door things for me!:confused3 I might go looking for magnetic paper over here and then ask around for helpful people!! Like my son!:rotfl:

Welcome Heather! Are you in FL?

I am babbling because I am nervous, can you tell and I am procrastinating as well. I need to at least come up with something to say.

You will be there now, but I am hoping all goes well. I am sure you are going to do brilliantly.

I love to research these things; I wish I could be a travel agent. :)

I am like you and hate a final booking, but Disney UK are really quite good prices. We booked with them for last November. I haven't booked yet fornext May, but I think it will be POP for cheapness, but as we are staying there for the first time in December we may feel the desire to move up to a Moderate!!

That sounds sensible. Though, at the moment that means we don't have a room!

It makes me annoyed too, but I am prepared to let Disney take the glory if it means we get the benefit. :rolleyes1

My abs are beginning to hurt! I just coughed and it was a bit painful. That's doing a 30 mins + abs only class at the gym this morning. I fear it is going to be a painful weekend.:sad2: I'm never going to have great abs at my age now - I never did anyway, but I keep trying.:rotfl2:

I am back from my speech and it went great! I was a bit nervous at first but I liked the topic so I got more comfortable as it went along. I think mine was the shortest though. Some of them were 10 minutes long!!

first hello and welcome to Paigee and your family:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Ok! a long time ago I remember some one was talking about a web site that they use to sell off some things (other then Ebay) could I get a reminder as to what it was?

I guess I'm having a Senior moment:confused3 :confused3 :confused3

Just had to make a comment about being a TA and discounts....

I'm a corporate TA (do business travel only) and have been in the industry since 1992.......we don't get many discounts on things anymore...it's DEFINATELY gone down hill in the last few decades!

I got into the industry becuz I love to travel and figured I'd be able to get a lot more for my $, but it's very rare now....it's actually cheaper to buy a regular nonrefundable ticket now than it is to try to get a TA discount.

As people have said they're not coming, if they were on the list I removed them. I don't have the brunch list though. Who was keeping that one? I have the master thread list. :confused3

It has to be craig's list. It's regional. Just google craig's list and your city name and it should come up.
