JaxTeach's PJ-- SBP/CG/UK Upper December 14, 2007 *After Wedding Update 12/15*

Love your PJ! Everything looks great so far! I just wanted to comment that you are getting married on my birthday! :woohoo:
I love the cool water roses. Purple is my favorite color, I'm going to have to keep those in mind :)

I've always loved purple roses. Blue is my favorite color, so the purple ones are the closest I can get.

December 14 is my birthday too! I will be 30 7 minutes before our wedding begins! :yay:

I'm so happy with the information I received today! We booked our Welcome Dinner for 'Ohana the night before the wedding a few weeks ago. I am not into being singled out and have feared this would happen at 'Ohana since it was our pre-wedding dinner. 'Ohana is one of my favorite restaurants, but the fear has outweighed the food. :worried:

I remember reading in KT27's TR that she had her Welcome/Rehearsal Dinner at Olive Garden. Since most of our guests are staying off property or are locals, I decided to give this a try. I just got off the phone with the manager and we are booked for dinner @ 5pm. They have two group dining meals to choose from. One is $17.?? and the other is $19.??. Each includes breadsticks, soup/salad, entree, drink (non-alcoholic), tax, and gratuity. The more expensive meal has the more pricey entrees (chicken parmesan, chicken alfredo).

So, with this good news, I will be saving a little less than $200. Our 'Ohana meal for 20 (18 adults, 2 kids) was going to be around $600 using our DDE card. Our Olive Garden meal should run around $400.

We're doing O'Hanas, but I must say I do love Olive Garden. I don't think anyone can resist those breadsticks and salad!

Wow you have some awesome (stolen) ideas! I think I am going to have to add to the train and steal some of your ideas! :rotfl: I am planning a DFTW in December too except mine is for 2009. I'm such a perfectionist that given that I have two years to plan is still not enough time for me. How you can do it the time you are given yourself is incredible. Good luck to you!

I only have 13 days until I return to school :teacher: ... this summer has flown by!

I submitted our worksheets to our WP on Thursday. My Disney wedding day planning is pretty much done. I still have to workout our Welcome Party details and figure out what DF and I will do until we leave for Paris (we leave 4 days after the wedding).

Today I received all of the candle accessories I ordered from http://www.save-on-crafts.com. I am so pleased with everything I ordered--except my hurricane. I think it may be too tall. None of these have been decorated yet. For brides looking for decent pricing on candle accessories, I highly recommend this website! (Also, it shipped from CA and nothing was broken which made me very happy! )

Memorial Candle Hurricane:

I plan on decorating this with some navy ribbon and possibly crystal Mickeys. I think I need a shorter hurricane, though.

CG Guest Table Candles:

The cylinder will go in the middle of my floral ring centerpieces. There will be 3 votives surrounding the centerpiece. We will also have votives on the cake table.

Wedding Favor:
FavorCandle.jpg

I found candle holder wraps at Michael's last week that we will place on the votive holder. I was so excited to find these because I had no clue what to do to customize these! I found a bunch of Yankee Candle votives at a local store to place inside. I'm not sure whether I should leave Yankee Candle label on or remove it.

Floral:
I figured out how to get a picture of our alter arrangement and floral rings. We are officially going with Whimsical Wey and I am so excited to see how everything turns out.

Alter Arrangement:

We will have 2 of these on a column at both sides of the "alter" area at SBP.

CG Guest Table Centerpiece:
ReceptionCenterpiece.jpg

These will be on our guest tables with the floating candle cylinder pictured above.

I've also found inspiration pics for our guest tables and cake table at CG. I didn't want to do an overlay and I think this chair sash idea will give a nice splash of color. I am ordering sashes in silver and navy.

And finally, I've managed to get in touch with Linda @ Chapman Photography. We are still concerned about our 2 hour block of nothing. I also need to schedule our engagement pictures. She is supposed to call me back to let me know what's going on. Here is a pic of the dress I bought for our engagement pictures:

love the dress and the table runners things as well.

Your wedding is going to look great very stylish

I was given as a wedding favor, a votive Yankee Candle. There is a sticker that you can put on them with your names and the date, but I don't know if they have to come directly from Yankee Candle, or it's something you can do yourself.

Your engagement dress is beautiful.

I think your hurricane holder is just lovely. If you go to The Pottery Barn or a place like that, you could buy a small stand to put inside to elevate your candle. I bought beautiful colored crystal stones at Michaels' to surround the memorial candle we have .. my candle is also shorter but once it's lit, the glass will help it glow even brighter.

I love that dress!!!

All of your plans sound fantastic. Paris for christmas, thats SO romantic and so exciting, good for you! I'm sure you will have an amazing time! Those purple roses are beautiful! I can't wait to hear more!

I love the table linens and the sashes, and I think your dress is adorable!

I love that dress!!!

Thank you! I haven't received the dress yet; I hope it looks nice. Just need to find a pair of shoes now...:rolleyes1

My mom mentioned the candles were a popular favor these days. You can definitely order the candles and custom stickers from Yankee Candle. I happened to run into a fantastic deal in a store so I decided to try to do it myself. This is what I have so far (I have to fix the graphic, it's off-center):

That's a great idea! I will have to look into a small platform to place the candle on inside the hurricane. It is so hard to judge when ordering things online!

Thank you! :goodvibes I cannot wait for our honeymoon! :woohoo: DF and I have been together for 5+ years and lived together for most of that time. So it feels like we are basically already married so we are looking forward to our dinner at CG, DP, and honeymoon!!

The dress you bought for the engagement pics is soooo cute! Everything else looks great as well :goodvibes

Looks like things are really coming together. Love the new dress, good luck with shoes! I saved that craft site to my favorites, looks like a great place.

Thank you! Your day is coming up fast... best of luck! pixiedust:

WOW Everything looks so fabulous... Good Luck:thumbsup2
Thanks... I'm glad I am very close to be finished with everything. Such a good feeling! :woohoo:

Thank you! I think I have a pair, but DF and I are the same height so I have to be careful in heels...

DF and I went through all of our wedding things to organize them last night. I have a bunch of things to return! I have everything I need, now just to put it all together...

I spoke with Randy Chapman earlier this week also. He is so kind and flexible, he really is! We've set up our engagement shoot for Sept. 3 (which is awesome for me since we wil be @ WDW for free dining and I'm off for Labor Day). He also took care of that pesky 2 hour gap we were going to have between Wishes @ California Grill and our DP. We saved $400+ so I'm glad I mentioned it to him!

Our WP is just awesome! I was a little weary in the beginning, but she has been nothing but the best. I asked her earlier this week about Intimate/Escape DPs. We were booked for Morocco which was really fine with us. The next morning I have an email telling me she's moved us to UK Upper Terrace and it's going to cost less than Morocco! I couldn't be happier! :cloud9:

I was playing around with the David's Bridal wedding party tool last weekend and have an idea of how I can get all of our colors to work (navy, lavender, and silver). I bought a silver sash to go with my dress, but I'm not sure about it yet.

I also bought a new tiara on eBay this weekend. I'm wearing pearl jewelry, but I really like this tiara. Since I'm trying to grow my hair out, I have no idea how I will wear it on our wedding day.

The sweet ladies on the Creative boards made some graphics for me to use on t-shirts. I am definitely making one for our flowergirl and ringbearer to wear while we are eating.

And I made our I Do letters for our cake table last night.

I ordered a bunch of stuff on eBay so when that arrives I can update again.

Wow - well this is a first time visit for me to your PJ and I have to say I am so impressed with the creativity you are putting into your wedding.

OMG I love the Olive Garden - we don't have it here in the UK so it's a must do for me and yay on that saving.

Your dress for the engagement shoot is lovely - I really like the colours.

Ooo and I love what those DIS creative board members can create - those graphics will make cute t-shirts, but hey like I said you're not bad yourself on the creativity.

Oh and that is a cool tool that David's Bridal has. I think blues and lavendars do go together well :) just my personal opinion though :)

Can I just say how cool that David's bridal tool is? I haven't seen that before!

I love your dress. All your plans looks great so far.

Thank you all for the kind words! I can't wait for December to get here... although I know it will be here before I know it.

Here are some pictures of the things I've been working on.

This is the ring bearer pillow and flower girl basket I had made. I'm not in love with them, but they're nice and match our colors so they will work.
BasketPillow.jpg

I also worked on some of our stationery. DF and I bought a color laser printer 2 weeks ago and I was anxious to test it out. I think it is going to do a nice job printing our invites and menus. I bought the Pocketfolds invitations from the Cards & Pockets website. I have the Sapphire Pocketfold, silver mat, and ivory invitation and inserts.

My Bouquet Jewels arrived a while ago, but I never posted them. I have to get them down to our florist soon. I really like the snowflake!
BouquetJewels.jpg

Here is my new sash (I changed from Navy to Silver) and the brooch I bought on eBay to wear with it.

I still haven't decided on what shoes to wear to our ceremony. I need about a 2" heel with my dress, but DF an I are the same height so I don't know what to do yet. I did buy shoes to wear when reality kicks in and my feet start aching about 5:30! My dress is ivory, so I'm not so sure the white will work. But then again, no one will see my shoes, right?
WeddingShoes.jpg

I did a mock up of our reception tables. This isn't quite right since our tables will be larger and round.

Our Precious Moments figurine:

I also worked on our Welcome Boxes. I decided to go with gable boxes. I'm waiting on smaller labels to come in so I couldn't actually put one together. This is the basic idea:

We had our engagement pictures with Randy Monday afternoon. We had them taken at POR. I can't wait to see them. I was so hot... I don't know how you summer brides did it!

Yesterday was our 100 day mark! :woohoo:

We received our BEO Monday upon returning from WDW. Everything looks alright... except some of the math seems to be off. For food, I believe it is 20% service and 6.5% tax, correct? It's not a big deal... I calculated the our BEO is off by about $30, which is nothing really.

For anyone who's interested, here are the details of our BEO (including service charges & tax):
Groom's Cake: $213.00 (1/2 sheet, DLP logo, 3D chocolate Mickey & 3D Eiffel Tower)
Wedding Ceremony (Intimate package, including Snowflake cake upgrade $191.70): $3141.70
Dinner @ CG Sonoma Room: $2529.16
Dessert Party: $1628.60
MK Photo Shoot: $1000.00

Grand Total: $8512.46
