DDA Chapter 4

My cat growing up was named Kitty. We got her when we lived in Massachusetts - I was about 7. Her owners were moving so they gave her to us. Not long after that we moved to Houston, and we brought her with us. Then we moved to Jacksonville, FL. Then St. Petersburg, FL. Then Dallas. I guess her original owners could have moved with her after all! :rotfl: She died after DH and I were dating so it was at least 1991. I thought she was older than 15, but maybe not. She was an indoor/outdoor cat who disappeared several times, and my mom ran over her tail with the car once. She was a pretty sturdy cat!

Janet, did that thread have pictures of the lithos?

ETA: Nevermind. I read the thread.

Well, I think the 3 little ones having a sleepover in my living room are going to outlast me at this rate (Kristi got desparate for a babysitter so we are having a sleepover here tonight). Of course, I'm the one who walked 5 miles at the zoo today. I'm not sure what we did differently as we usually log 3-3.5miles on a trip, but topped 5 today.

We have Hobby Lobby, but I am not getting the pictures! :rotfl2:
And I am not 100% certain that we still have Hobby Lobby. The one where I knew where it was is gone.

I just asked about pictures, maybe someone will post some. I would love to see what they look like!

Good luck getting the girls to sleep Tia! If only we still had all that energy :thumbsup2

Anyone familiar with Chicago...where is US Cellular Field (White Sox)? It is accessible by train or other public transport, right?

Would I be able to either fly into Midway or arrive via Amtrak, find a decently priced hotel and get to US Cellular Field all via public transportation, preferrably train? If I stayed in that general vicinity would it be adviseable on my own? Any worse than the times I stayed in Boston or NYC on my own?

The other day I was formulating an idea to get away on my own for a couple of days. The Red Sox play in Chicago in August so I'm thinking about going up on Fri or Sat morning and coming back the next evening. I could do Amtrak pretty cheaply or would watch for cheap Southwest flights. Look for a good hotel rate and just go to the game and maybe a little sightseeing.

It may not happen in part because 1) convincing my husband of the idea will be hard, but 2) Terra and I may go to CA in July. Another old playgroup friend will be in town there in July and we're talking about having a reunion. It so happens that it will be the same week that the Sox play in Anaheim so I could get my Red Sox fix, Disney fix and friends fix all in one swoop, plus Terra would get to see her grandparents, aunt/uncles, etc.

I'm not sure what the deal is. Put Kassie and Connor in their beds, even if Terra is still up and they're out in minutes. Have a "sleepover" with sleeping bags in the living room and they're all up forever. They aren't even running around, just laying in their "beds" watching a movie (which at nap time they would konk right out during). As soon as this one is over, the tv is going off too.

My bil & sil have a Disney room now that their kids have moved out. I was thinking these might be a nice gift for them to add to their room. Of course once I see them, I might change my mind :rotfl:

Maybe you could email Kristine, I'm sure she will help you. I have not been to Chicago for some time & then it has been with Gary driving.

Your plans sound like fun though!

Well, I think that I'm going to go turn off the movie and get everyone (read: myself) to sleep. My breathing is acting up and it's just making me feel more tired I think. Broke out the inhaler for the first time since summer so we'll see if that was the problem and does the trick. Night all.

Night Tia, hope the inhaler does the trick for you :wizard:

It looks like I'm all alone here right now, I learned how to do a new background on photoshop so here's a design I came up with it. DH will never wear this one, :lmao:

I like that. Isn't it fun to learn new tricks:thumbsup2

so i decided today, march 1 was my deadline to start exercising and getting in shape..i start kickboxing classes next week..tonight my friend let me borrow a billy blanks dvd..i did 30 min of it...was tough but i think ill be okay--at least i hope! but i was proud of myself for doing it!

Great start. Chris and I are starting on Monday. 90 day plan. He wants to lose 30 lbs and I want to lose 15 lbs. It would be easier if we could do something outside besides shoveling

Glad your doggie had a good day, I have a cat that is 12 years old, I thought he was sick the other day and I was just about in tears, I love that raggedy old cat.

I remember helping with more than one project, all this talk about Taco's- we went to try a new Mexican restaurant today but left when we got a closer look. The food looked fine but it turned out to be counter service and I was in the mood to be waited on, so we ended up at High Cotten, a new bar and grill, I had the grilled chicken ceasar salad, I'm still trying to be good.

I'm still losing, slowly but surely, so I guess I'll have to take it.

Slow and steady wins the race :thumbsup2

I hope tonight wasn't as bad as you anticipated.

I survived and she behaved herself. Of course I did have 1 drink after work :rolleyes1 I haven't had a drink since summer. Boy did that one sneak up on me. Chris says I should have a drink more often :flower3:

That may be viral. I broke out my inhaler one day last week and I haven't needed it in years (I can't believe that I still have it).

Way to go! Let me know what your think of the class. That's one I've always thought would be fun to take.

Ill let ya know! i never thought about it before ,but the deal was too good to pass up!

Well one of my best friends from high school came over tonight and we just sat around and talked..it was a nice relaxing night!
I think im headed to bed--tomorrow is going to be a lowkey day--im looking forward to it!

Chanon - Well, chop, chop! Time's a wastin'! Packing is the most important part of a trip, you know!;)
Packing was done. It was an ordeal - everything for both of us is in one rolling carryon and a tote! ;)

I'll be back late Tuesday. I better get going - I have a cat that wants my lap before we leave.

Bye!

It is already 41 degrees here, we are suppose to have a high of 55 today :cool1: I wish it would stay though.

I had to add a temporary ticker, I need to see how close my trip is getting :dance3:
