Tammi- Love Nicholas' football pic, he is such a handsome little man!

Elizabeth- I hope you can find some deals on all the pants/jeans you need to buy!! At least you get to shop!!

The Cookie sale went fine. I didn't make it home until after 8:30. I was chilled to the bone and headed directly upstairs to the warmth of my bed! I was there for an hour and a half by myself with 4 girls. We survive but the leader was not thrilled I didn't manage to keep an accurate tally count of the boxes sold. Whatever, we sold 40 boxes the 1st half hour and one woman would not wait until we were set up, she had to have the cookies right then and there. And then I had a lovely conversation with a gentleman who proceeded to tell me that he was not able to buy the cookies as he is allergic to gluten. He felt the need to tell me all the wonderful side effects one gets when you are unable to digest gluten.:scared: Really could have managed with out that last night.

We also are having issues with our leader and the way our girls our treated within the troop (our troop is made up of 4th graders, who are juniors and our 3rd graders, who are Brownies. We also have 1 1st grader that joined- we had decided to close the troop to outsiders but she attends the school we meet at so we had no choice but to accept her.) Anyway, the leader doesn't particularly want us there and really excludes us from the things she does and we are to the point that it is just been enough. We feel that we'd be better off branching out on our own but it will obviously bring a lot of drama and then the fact that our troop will have very little start up funds as the Cookie sale is just about over and that money would not transfer with the girls. Lots of decisions to be made. Thankfully, the 4 other parents that are in Emma's section are fabulous and everyone is willing to step up and get involved.

I am baking cupcakes for the Halloween party we are going to at 3 today! Thankfully they are pretty easy to decorate, I am turning them into pumpkins. No homemade icing though, I broke down and bought the tubs at the store.

Sorry there's so much drama for the troop, Robyn, but I'm glad that last night went fairly well. The cupcakes sound great! Terra wants to make Halloween ones since one of the magazines had some many cutes ones on them. You did remind me that I need to get in there and make the cookies I wanted to take to the hayride.

Vicki congratulations!

Becky how is your brother & his friend?

Elizabeth glad you & ds enjoyed the play!

My brother Stephen- His left shin is sore
Chris- His arm is broken in 4 places, he has to go back for a Dr. appointment Monday. He was in the suicide seat AKA behind the driver, plus he braced himself
Nick- Is sore from where the seat belt hits
Matt- I am not sure what if any injuries he has

Nick and Chris are brothers. All of them have known each other since elementary school.

My brother was driving Nick's Jeep, his Dad has let my brother drive their vehicles for years. Who knows if this will change. Although they were probably better off in the Jeep then in Stephen's Jetta.

My prior information was incorrect. They were driving straight in the left hand lane of a two lane in each direction road. The other car was coming the opposite direction, and was turning left into the shopping center. They thought that Stephen was turning right into the shopping center. (Without his turn signal on plus from the left lane to turn right):confused3 . They swerved but still ending up hitting the front end of the Jeep into side of the other car. The other guy took all the blame. He was OK, as the only person to go to the ER was Chris. We just hope the other guy's insurance was pretty good. As the Jeep is basically totaled.

In due time everyone should be fine.

I would look into what it offers for kids. I'm sure it has tons, but all the "extra" stuff I hear about for the member cruise is lectures, tastings, etc that would obviously be geared more for adults. I'm betting since it's DCL that they don't replace or take away any kids activities, but I'd just make sure the rest of the cruise is functioning as usual when taking kids. Does that make sense? I'm sure it's an easy answer to find. I just would imagine that if anything is 'missing' from the kids activity, AND it's a more expensive cruise, that another week - with better dates even - might be a better option. There are tons of DISers that always take the cruise though, so that would be really fun!

ETA: On second thought, book the WB Repo for 2010! :teeth:

I agree, book the 2010 TA WB Repo:thumbsup2

Vicki, congrats on the promotion!

Elin, hugs to Bob on such a tough time.

Tammi, Nicholas is so handsome!

Becky, we are enjoying your TR. Have a 5 day DD booked, and I keep dying over the price. Your report is helping justify it!

Robyn, last night sounds great, and I agree about the cupcakes sounding yummy.

Hi to everyone else! (I'm off until Tuesday and actually have a little free time to DIS!)

Just remember this is my advice and different councils do things differently.

Sorry you are having drama in your troop. Part of the reason I am not a fan of multi-level troops. In this case for now, it would not work after the grade level change. Had the 1st grader not joined I would have recommended that all the girls, have bridged to Juniors and then your troop would have been all Juniors.

In my experience the money should be split amongst the girls. Although you probably would want the girls to vote on this. So if you have 8 girls that break off into Brownies and 5 girls into Juniors, the money would be divided by 13. Take this amount and multiply it by 5 this amount goes to the Junior troop. Take the amount and multiply by 8 this goes to the Brownie troop.

I would be calling my service unit or neighborhood manager/director or I would call your membership representative at council. Just to give them a heads up of what is happening. I prefer to know what is going on ahead of time. Instead of later finding out that things totally blew up and now the girls want to quit.

 :wizard: to you as you navigate through this

Have fun at the Halloween party.

Anyone else having crappy weather today? Its been raining since last night and if the wind get any stronger, we will be blown away.

I did however enjoy a nice mug of hot cocoa a bit ago.

Ditto!

It is good to see you! What month are you cruising? I loved having two stops at CC when I did my B2B.

I am glad to hear you are enjoying the TR. How are John's Grandparent's doing? (I hope I have that right) Hugs and good thoughts to all of you!

One is still in the hospital. The other went back to the nursing home on Hospice. It could be tonight or a few months. But neither will make it long. He is trying to be ok for the kids, but I can tell he is really sad.

It is Icky weather here. I am supposed to go to Boo at the Lehigh Valley Zoo tonight and hand out candy for my job. I was told if the weather is still icky around that time, not to go. As in the past when the weather is ickyish, hardly anybody shows up.

Not today, but yesterday the high was in the upper 40's and was rainy and very windy. YUCK! And they said we may get down into the 20's the beginning of the week. Did the weather not notice I live in the DEEP SOUTH? What's up with these temps in October??? :confused3 :rotfl:

Leighanna has a Halloween party to go to today. I stayed up WAY too late last night to start and finish it.
She loves pink, so this is what I cam up with.

Too many Leighanna Bo Peeps!

Robyn - Not fun to sell cookies in the cold with no other adult help! I am sorry the troop is in upheaval. Hopefully you guys will be able to split and the girls will be happy with the outcome! :wizard:
Mmmmm. Cupcakes!

Tom - OMG! That costume is AMAZING! What a wonderful Dad you are!! :goodvibes
