Online ADRs Thread (Updated FAQ 9/9/9)

Can you only request ADR's for on the hour, 15 minutes past, 30 minutes past, and 45 minutes past? I need to make mine this weekend and was thinking of getting all I could online and then if I still needed some, call at 7 AM and speak to a CM. I know they have the options of giving an ADR--for example--at 7:10 AM. Thanks!

The reason I'm asking is because the CM on the phone says something isn't available yet online states it is. This is something I would need to guarantee with a card. Thanks.

Also if I am on the dining plan and want to book my reservations online will it charge my card? I don't see a place to enter my confirmation number for my package.

I can't retrieve any of the bookings I made online. And its been 4 days now.

All of our on-line ADRS that I made ended up getting linked to a different phone number than the ones that I made over the phone. I called to see if anyone had canceled a Fantasmic package and the CM wasn't able to pull up the on-line ADRs with our resort reservation number and associated phone number. She then looked them up by ADR number and they were all linked to a different phone number that we had used previously and no longer linked to our resort res # even though I associated them when I made them on-line. I was just happy that she could see them and now I know how to pull them up myself by using our cell #.

I don't know yet about the accuracy because we haven't gone yet since the new online system. HOWEVER, I have made several ADRs online for our August trip and each ADR made, you get an email receipt with the restaurant, date, confirmation number etc. Therefore, I'm going to print them all and bring them with me. I'm not even going to worry about the accuracy. Once I have a print out from them with the number and showing the date and all, I don't care what they say at the podium, they'll have to find a way to seat us.

Plus, something can literally open up from one minute/second to the next with the computer system. Could be something just wasn't updated yet.

I was wondering this as well when it came to making online vs phoning. Ended up that the +10 thing didn't work for me online so I phoned in. Got ADRs ar times not available online, eg: 6:40, 4:25 etc. Don't know if that means the CMs on the phone have more availability or not. :confused3 I'd be interested in finding out about this also.

Even though the system searches based on those 15 min increments, many of the reservations it offered me were at times such as 8:10am and 6:50pm so it seems to be able to search within a 1 hr timespan either way. Hope this helps!

I made an online one today for 12:25pm so I think you put in the time and then the options they show you are as close to that time as possible. So you can still get the oddball times like the :25 after LOL!

Nope it gives you a random choice or random choices of what is available closest to that time.
I did all my adr's online and I have a 6:50, a 7:10 an 8:35, a 12:55 and then also some at things like 7:00. That is not to say that there aren't more choices it just gives you one or two at a time. If you want lots of choices you may be better off with a CM. Personally I never would have gotten what I did without online. I got online at 5am my time. When I tried to call at 6 am to tweak some things I couldn't even get a line till 6:25 (just kept getting all circuits are busy right now). When I finally got through it said a 30 minute wait. I would have been freaking if I hadn't already got my original adrs. I ended up tweaking them online in the last two days and am pretty happy with them.

When a reservation needs to be guaranteed with a credit card, the card is not charged unless the Guest does not show or does not cancel far enough in advance.

Can't help you with prepaid meals.

I do everything on my computer, banking, buying, communicate, everything, but this new system makes me very nervous and I think I'll be calling for my ADR's this next trip. The system is too new and the last thing I need is to get to Disney and they have no record of my ADR's. After it has been in use for at least 6 months and is proven to be fail safe, then I'll use it, I've had some bad luck with Disney's system before.

I'm sorry to ask such a remedial question, but I figured someone here would have had success or failure doing this.

I've booked a vacation for 9 nights/10 days assuming I could do the 90+10. Then I wondered if I booked a 10 night/11 day vacation (the maximum, I believe) can I still make ADRs for every day of my stay, including the 11th day, our day of checkout? Or do they consider the 90+10 the # of nights, not days? Does anyone know what I'm talking about? My husband didn't. :)

Thanks.

That's OK... Most husbands glaze over at things like that......

You can book for the day you check in PLUS the next 10 days, even if it's check out day. Hope that helps!

Thanks for that. So just to confirm you can, technically, book up to 11 days if 90 = the 1st day (check-in) + 10 days later = the 11th day (checkout)?

My experience was the same. I was able to retrieve the bookings by putting in the dining reservation number I was given while making the bookings. You can find that number on the confirmation email they send you following the booking session.

The only number I have is the dining reservation number they emailed plus the phone number i used when i made the booking. We are staying offsite so they are not linked to a hotel reservation number. There is also no other phone number they could have for us either as there resort reservation with a different number. I'm so frustrated.

I booked all but one of my ADR's on the phone last Saturday. I am on the deluxe dining plan, but my reservations were booked through AAA, so the Disney site is not seeing them. I am online right now and can grab an adr on the date/time I want, but it needs a credit card. I don't want to lose this ADR, but don't want my credit card charged either. If I book it now, can I call at 7am and have them change the adr to just a credit card guarantee? Is the card charged immediately? If so, can the CM remove this charge?

HELP!!!

I feel so lucky that I can be added to the list of people who LOVE online reservations! I got everything I wanted within 10 minutes of what I wanted, except 1900 dinner which I thought was odd. I wanted it for our arrival night, so that's probably why I couldn't get it. I will keep checking in hopes that I can get it!
We arrive on 9/29 and all reservations are for 6 people.

09/30 CP 10:10AM
10/01 Ohana's 10:35AM
10/02 50's PT 4:05PM
10/03 TH 10:15AM
10/04 Ohana's 5:30PM
10/05 Princess Storybook 5:05PM
10/06 BBB 8:30AM (phoned in for this one)
CRT 11:55AM

Now I just have to wait for 90 days until we leave! I am SO happy with our ADR's :cool1:

Thrilled!! Arriving on 9/29 and got all the ADR's we wanted for a party of 3. The times are within 25 mins. of what we wanted with the exception of Crrystal Palace (I will try to improve on this time in the weeks ahead). I booked online this morning starting at 6:01 AM and had no problems what-so-ever. :dance3:

Tue 9/29: Biergarten - 5:30 PM
Wed 9/30: Crystal Palace - 3:35 PM (wanted 5:00 PM)
Thur 10/1: Marrakesh - 4:45 PM
Fri 10/2: 50's Prime Time - 4:35 PM
Sat 10/3: Chef Mickey - 5:25 PM :yay:(and on a Saturday)
Sun 10/4: Tusker House - 11:30 AM
Mon 10/5: Cape May Cafe - 5:30 PM

I saw on another board this morning that someone had success retrieving their TA-booked reservation this morning. Sure enough, I checked with mine and it connected. Disney finally fixed something. :thumbsup2

I held off booking the adr online and spoke with a Dining CM. Was told by the CM that if I try to book a reservation requiring a credit card, that my cc would be charged immediately since the website does not see resort package reservations booked by travel agents. She said the only way to get the charge taken off my credit card is to wait until the day of the reservation and speak with the person at check-in to credit my credit card back then charge the reservation to my deluxe dining package. I can change any of my other non-credit card held adr's online, though.

So I lost the 8:05am reservation at Cindy's on the date that I wanted.

Disney needs to update the website so that it see ALL of the resort reservations booked in it's system online, not just those booked directly with Disney. I've been trying to add my resort reservation to My Disney Vacation since I booked it back in April and it will not recognize it. According to the CM, because I did not book it directly through Disney, the website will not recognize it.
:headache::mad:
